Saw my own birth... kind of

I've always had this strange memory from when i was young... I'm standing in the my livingroom doorway, watching my mum lying on the floor in pain.. My Grandmother and my brother are also there, and an ambulence outside.. I can recall "hot water" being mentioned, and "towels". I've always assumed that this memory was of my mother falling ill, hence the ambulence. But recently when i questioned my mother about what had happened her that day, she said that was the day that she was in labour with me! I told her this was impossible, because i remember standing in the doorway watching her lying on the floor, with my grandmother assisting her! She didn't seem puzzled by my memory, and just seemed to dismiss it.

This is my oldest memory that i can remember, and i can still picture it so vividly in my mind! Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Man that's weird, most people don't remember that far back..... My oldest memory that i can vividly recall is me shooting my brother in the forehead with a BB gun when I was 4 lol.

You've probably heard stories about your birth since you were young and have recreated them visually in your mind.

the human mind is always strange, it will sometimes create memories where there are none.

You might have had an Out of Body Experience or O.B.E while still in the womb.

Many times memories from long ago aren't seen from your point of view or you see them from a different perspective

a little while ago i was asking my mum about a memory i had when i was a kid but it turned out to be something that happened to my sister. i am not saying that this was someone elses memory that you have, it might be a possibility. being able to create memories that arent real is actually fascinating to read about. i saw this show on tv the other night about people finding out about their past lives and how psychics can create false memories so easy and our brains believing it. but if you were standing at the door watching your birth then i think when you were a baby, they were talking about it and your brain created the memory for you.

Not normal, but not outside the scope of possibility. I certainly cannot remember back that far, but I have some clear memories from the ages of 1 through to 3.

I think it is one of those spiritual things. Paranormal if you prefer. I don't mean to sound crazy but there is a lot science can't explain. I'm not religeous but there's more to life than what meets the eye. Enjoy the memory! And look up the boy who lived before or realated topics. It's not so far fetched as it seems

Did your mom ever tell you about the expereience? Usually we go through infant amnesia in which the part of your brain that creates memory is not developed, thus we cannot remeber the first couple years of our lives. Most cases are usually memories in which have been told to us and we create memory for it. But there has been several cases that some hve claimed to remeber there own births, anything is possible.

Many people remeber things like that through dreams that are so vivid that it seems like a memory. I have few like that but I just realized I can't remember which one it is.

Ray Bradbury mentioned seeing his own birth at one of his seminars. I'm sure other people have had these memories. Or maybe it was just a dream.
