Saw a white doglike ghostly figure with my friend?

One night i was with my friend when we were walking back to her room from the kitchen when we saw a small doglike figure run across the floor. I thought it was just me seeing this until she said something about it. She told me that she saw it again last night in her room. Is this normal, or what could it be?
