I don't know what will happen next. Maybe Chuck Norris will kick some bad guy's ass and then kick back and eat a sandwich?

I think Chuck's biggest fight is with osteoporosis and an aging prostate.

Sometimes it seems there are regions of the world where conflict resurfaces again and again, even after several generations have lived and died.

It's difficult to know what will happen next when things are escalating so quickly, but you don't have to look far back in history for a similar example. The Russian invasion of Georgia five years ago and the brief war that followed. The European Union were able to bring about an end to hostilities by acting as mediators.

That may be the case here too but I have my doubts. Ukraine's meek non-militaristic reaction suggest they fear the impending invasion (which I notice just became news about 15 minutes ago in that it has been authorised unanimously by the upper house of the Russian parliament).

I don't see Russia accepting a compromise over Crimea, probably the most "Russian" of the territory they lost. I also see huge issues in Ukraine with the ethnic mix of Russians and Ukrainians. National Socialism is on the rise, with the aim to eradicate the mix and bring racial purity.

Politically, the logical solution would be for Crimea to transition itself back to Russian sovereignty. I believe in the long-term that may happen. But no country that has regained independence so recently can allow itself to be shown impotent. The flashpoint is going to come from that situation, especially if - as I believe - UN support for Ukraine isn't going to be as strong as perhaps it might be.

My mom & I were watching Dr. Phil today when the show got interrupted so the President could threaten Russia if it chooses to mess with Ukraine. My mom was like "Why should we even care? Why is it any of our business?" And I replied sarcastically "Because we're Team America: World Police."

TL;DR The USA needs to mind its own damn business

Russia will lose a huge trading partner if the Ukraine moves to the EU and open the door for EU products to move into Russia, unregulated and untaxed. The Ukraine will benefit greatly from that move and Russia will lose any dominance it has over the Ukraine.
The US cannot do a damned thing, militarily or economically here; it is all talk, and Russia knows it. There are way too many, other, more important things (like nuclear disarmament) going on with Russia at this time that we cannot risk fucking up.
The EU and the UN are going to have to keep this one in control or Russia will just roll in with tanks (their preference, by far), like they did some years back in Czechoslovakia.
It will be interesting to see what happens. I'd like to see the Ukraine go with the EU. Anything to embarrass and frustrate that little shit, Putin. Another little man with a Napoleon complex.

Napolean was above average height. How can I now believe anything you say after the lies you have told?

Why should I give a fuck what you choose to believe? If you can read, how about you look up "Napoleon complex"? I didn't make up the term.

Why would you type anything if you didn't want it to be read and believed? Seriously, if you don't give a fuck, why bother?
Napolean was above average height. It's irresponsible of you to be spreading this myth. Why don't you look it up?

Seriously, why do you care so much about something as inconsequential as Napoleon's height (he has been dead for some time now, by the way) when the topic under discussion is the Ukraine, which may be on the brink of a civil war which may kill thousands?
            I don't get your point?
The fact that you think talking about a Napoleonic complex (remember, I never mentioned Napoleon's height at all, that was your inference), which is a medically recognized condition, invalidates the information I posted, to the point you called me a liar and troll, absolutely flabbergasts me.
I so lost all respect for you at that point.
Call me what you will, because, once again, I don't give a flying fuck what YOU think, shittypenis.

Napolean's height wasn't my inference; it's a well-known myth that Napolean had an inferiority complex due to his height.
Your choice to spread this misinformation is reckless and irresponsible.
I think it's time for your nap, you angry little troll.

SIMFEROPOL, Ukraine Saturday, March 1, 2014 (AP) — Russian troops took over the strategic Crimean peninsula Saturday without firing a shot. The newly installed government in Kiev was powerless to react, and despite calls by U.S. President Barack Obama for Russia to pull back its forces, Western governments had few options to counter Russia's military moves.
Well, well, please tell all the members on here how I'm just a liar NOW. And four idiots thumbed up this cretin?

Wow remind me to never look on here if looking for a debate ... This situation was alot more complicated then anyone thinks....

If anyone thinks US can just invade Russia and come out on top you better check again....

IF russia went to War with the US they would most likely win but by Time Russia was done with it the US would have a very small Army left for the next country who took that as there opputinity to pounce on the worlds most hated country USA ...

US steps in for 1 reason only .. Forget what the MEdia tells you and forget all the peace this is 2014 that is not how we conduct things..

The US would only step to Russia if they felt Russia was going to become a So Called Superpower and that is that ...

I fear Russia might do a "Georgia" on Ukraine.

Also the Russians have a military base on the black sea, it will them extra reasons to invade and "liberate" the Russian people.

But again the new Ukrainian government will need to address this issue diplomatically with the Russian speaking parts of Ukraine.

Hmm,if something bad will happen with Ucraina, tehre will be other countries ivolved, like Romania,Poland, maybe Turkey and Bulgary, the Moldavian Democratic Republic. Why?Because these countries are close to Ukraine.
Also,if i am right, there are american soldiers in Romania, which pretty close to Ukraine,so americans could step in at anytime.:D
