Running over something in the road and not caring?

Why let yourself get distracted from safe driving for something that you have no control over and does not affect your or anyone else's future to any degree?

Are you also concerned about the fly's people swat and other insects you squash when they land on or bite you?

Nice try olderdude. I don't care to kill bugs. And if a bug bites you, you're going to smack it out of reflex.

Oh okay, so as long it doesn't affect your future it's just fine and dandy? And are you slow? I KNOW you have no control over it, stupidfuck. I am saying I don't get how people like yourself run over an animal, and not feel bad about it. Also, let's see if you feel the same way if you were to hit a PERSON.

Also, I don't feel bad about eating meat! Nor hunting, nor butchering animals for food. When I grew up we raised rabbits for food (and our family was not the only one who did so). My dad would also buy old hens who's laying days were over and we would butcher them as well (tough, but cheap meat).

At the same time our family was the one in our town who took in injured animals and tried to heal them so they could continue to live. The only animal we turned down was a skunk. The local DNR warden knew about us and told us just to let him know if we got certain animals and to let him or the police know immediately if someone brought us an injured eagle (I grew up where eagles existed). We would not be in trouble if we contacted them immediately, and they would have someone licensed come pick up the eagle or certain other animals.

I know all about caring for animals, and burying the ones that didn't make it (usually with a small ceremony). There had to be several hundred animals buried in our back yard by the time I left for the US Navy.

I love spending time in the outdoors and watching wildlife and many times I'm so peaceful and relaxed they come up near me (I'm the best one in my family who can do that - I have 7 brothers and sisters).

But, I don't worry about the animals I hit with my car.

"But, I don't worry about the animals I hit with my car".

Yeah, clearly. Do you not realize how fucked up that is? To sit there, and hit an animal and not care. You have to be messed up in order to kill an animal and not care. You continuously admit you lack empathy in all your replies, you know that right? Haha you're going against your own damn purpose of replying!

Never hit a person; but I would immediately stop and render aid as best as possible in the situation.

I have several times come upon both auto and yard accidents where I immediately stopped and rendered aid to the injured. Transported one person to the local hospital emergency room.

So it's different when it's a person, but when it comes to an animal it's just fuck it?

If you do not understand the difference between a person, and an animal... that's not for me to educate you.

There is a reason its legal to kill and eat animals and not people... and the reason is not biological.

You're such an idiot lmfao. Dude, just admit that you're not normal. You can keep on trying to excuse not having any empathy for animals, but guess what? It doesn't matter because at the end of the day, it doesn't changse reality. You're some psychopathic weirdo, whether you wanna accept it or not. End of discussion.

That animal made a decision... likely not understanding the consequences. I do my best to avoid them when traffic allows; but, I'm not the one who decided to run onto the road and many times there is nothing I can do given my speed, the road, and when I see them.

I guess otherwise we will have to disagree.

By the way, I don't know anyone in my area out of hundreds of people I know who cares about the small animals they hit when driving; and no one feels sorry for the deer that get hit around here either.

How pathetic do you have to be, in order to blame animals for getting ran over. Wow, you really are desperate.

And? Does that make it right? No. Are you saying since other people don't care, that means you don't have to care?

It does not make it wrong either. Sorry, you are not the absolute authority on wright and wrong.

In this case I go on what I was taught was normal in my part of the country. It's normal not to be concerned about the various small or large animals that dart out onto the road and get hit by a car.

I have talked to enough people in other parts of the country - who live in rural areas - who also accept that as normal.

My guess is that the people objecting to that are largely city or large town folk who have rarely, if at all, had to deal with the issue.

This site is about "Is it normal"

So tell me what you do when you hit an animal on the road... not just the 1st time, but your 50'th time, and your 100th time...

Do you stop and care for them as best as possible. Bury them with a prayer group, etc? Even if you are many miles from home and where you are going and on a schedule to meet other people?

                I'm really curious...
