Repititave dream ?

Okay, so I've been having the same dream since I was about seven years old... I don't know what it means.

I'm standing in my backyard at night. There's no stars in the sky, and when I walk out on the grass, the stars start to fall. I try to catch them, but they slip through my fingers.

I had it for the first time a few months ago since the very first time I had it.. and almost every night since then.. and now every time it ends, i break out in a cold sweat and i wake up scared and near tears, but i dont know why.

This dream sounds neat actually and repetitive dreaming is normal. My advice (if you are not able or willing to see a therapist who works with dreams)is to learn to be with your feelings. Accept yourself and your feelings. There is a part of you that is not comfortable dreaming this dream. You need to allow your self to feel whatever feelings come up. Allow yourself to cry those tears. When we repress feelings that are related to our dreams, we are not able to actually fully process the dreams psychologically and let them go. Our dreams come from our subconscious minds and they are our friends trying to teach us something or heal something within us. If we fear our dreams or push them away, they do not go away. Allow the dream, allow the feelings. After you let yourself feel, you will probably have thoughts come that might be helpful for you in understanding the dream...but only after you feel your feelings. Embrace the dream, do not fear it. Just be with it and all the feelings and thoughts that come up associated with it. You will not have it forever...

The question to ask is how you feel when you wake up after this dream and work out what these feelings are about.

Other people on here have described the subconscious usefulness of dreams in allowing us to recognise and name issues we need to do something about.

Dream on, dreamer and don't be so scared of the dream that you ignore whatever its message is - remember, your own subconscious made it up for a reason and there's a reason why you keep dreaming it - can you link the times you dream it to issues in your life?

I think it's normal. I also have alot of repetative dreams. Sometimes they have meanings but sometimes they don't. But i think the reason why u keep having it over and over is because u think about it too much. Or maybe there something about it that makes u uncomftorable. Try to figure out what it means. If not, just let it go.

Remember that dreams are your subconscious mind filtering through your conscious mind and organising it! If you don't sort out the issue in the conscious world then you'll keep having subconscious symbolic dreams about it. Stars in dreams are generally a sign of aspirations, successes and chances, and skies indicate a sense of having no limits. The fact that it's dark could mean you find it hard to see where you're going. Your dream most likely means that your are worried about your dreams for the future - take some step to reassure yourself that you can achieve them and the dream should stop bothering you.

i can tell you this.you are not alone in this dream. i to have a dream like this one excepy i fly into the sky and put the stars back. i was told it was because i was into space travel and seeing all the stars up close. but knowing i could never touch them or change them. I think you too want to learn more about space.
