I know what you mean by superficial, but dont you agree that when you date a guy whos into football 99% he comes with the whole package. Id rather date a guy into music or art. Its way more sophisticated.

If you don't like British football culture (soccer to us Americans) then you'd be positively APPALLED by the masses of ignorant, beer-guzzling, fat-bellied men here in the USA who LIVE for watching and following American (gridiron) football - and I don't think you'd be attracted to the typically violence-prone, thick-skulled guys who play it, either. who are its biggest enthusiasts. (For example, wife/girlfriend beatings, alcohol-related violence, and murders have a major spike every year during the Super Bowl.)
At many (or most) American universities, academics go begging while the athletic programs (read: college football) NEVER lack for funding. (Way to get our priorites straight, no?)

Haha, I'm the same way! I always said I'd never date a guy who played football. Then I met/started dating this guy and found out months later that he used to play tons of football! I kinda realized how stupid I was to judge someone like that, but I definitely know what you mean. At least where I live, there's a kind of stereotype that goes along with football players that I'm not too fond of. But hey, I've never really been into sports myself. :)

yea I hate watching football too, but i can play it or play it on video games (haven't done so in a long time).

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HATE IT IF YOU HAVE NEVER PLAYED, WATCHED OR RESEARCHED ABOUT IT! I personally am a football girl. I enjoy it, you shouldn't be so closed minded. I understand if it is an obsession thing, but if the guy is slightly interested, that's just not right. You might watch or try it and actually love it. I thought the same way, my ex loved football (not obsessed, but he liked it) and he got me into it when we played it together... I gradually liked it more and more. So, don't be so close minded.
