I listen to metal...Real metal. Stuff like, "Iron Maiden", "Black Sabbath", "Slayer", Suicidal Tendencies", and much more. I also listen to Led Zepplin, which a lot of people do not consider metal. If you do not consider Led Zepplin metal please actually listen to some of there songs you posers. Songs like, "The Immagrant Song", "Kashmir", and "Stairway To Heaven"...
Led Zeppelin is not metal, sorry. That's "rock."
But that's not to say they're not good. I do have a Zeppelin quote tattooed on my arm, so....
Also, you got more rock there, Sabbath. NWOBHM/thrash is Iron Maiden. Slayer, Metallica, Pantera are thrash, though Pantera is later. Suicidal Tendencies is like, early hardcore (and I hate them).
I would say that none of these would be considered "metal" in today's standards, they're too "soft."
But yeah. What's your point?

There are a few of different types of metal. There's the classic metal, which would be Led Zepplin and Metallica and Iron Maiden and Pantera and all of that. Then there's the death metal, like Slayer and Arch Enemy and Otep and Rammstein... you know, the screamy/growly shit. Industrial metal; they use pianos and techno-sound-bullshit and triggers.
Hair metal, of course.. Sebastian Bach.
To each their own.

I listen to stuff like Slipknot and Korn. You can call me a poser; but I don't go around saying "oh look I'm such a metalhead" Let people listen to what they want, as long it's not One Direction.
I don't consider Led Zeppelin metal, they're hard rock to me. All those other bands you mentioned I would consider "real metal", there isn't really any metal that sounds like Led Zeppelin, though some NWOBHM like Diamond Head is influenced by Zeppelin. I'd put Led Zeppelin's heavy songs in the same category as Aerosmith's or Queen's hard rock, metal to me would be more like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Suicidal Tendencies is crossover thrash though, which is somewhere between metal and punk.

Wow metallica is alright but compared to now like slipknot or bullet for my valentine now thats metal slayer has a song that is similars to bullet and no comparason bullet kicks ass, judast priest sucks maybe painkiller best song he has done but disturbed is much better out with the old and in with the metal
For the record, Slipknot is not REAL metal, it's just nu metal, which is far different than classic thrash metal like Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, etc. Bullet for my Valentine is all right, but you need to have way more respect for the groups that started it all.
