Raising kids in the while

When I grew up i lived an a decent sized plot of land with a small forest on it in the middle of a city. I'm guessing because of this I have always loved forests and nature and often fantasize about grabbing my gear heading into the forest and never coming back.

Having said this I still want a wife and kids. The thing is I want to take my kids into the forest(or have them in the forest) and raise them there. I don't mean like savage style raising I would teach them all about science, math, English, martial arts and even a second language. I guess i just wanna give my kids the life I wish I had and then some. I have thought about this in great detail over the past year and how I could give them such a beautiful upbringing and how I think it would make them much smarter better people for it.

Just for a bit more information this would be done in Canada probably around Alberta( it gets to -40 there in the winter). I would have a cabin but would not stay in it all year round as I would travel around camping in other places. I would teach my kids martial arts as well as the fine arts so they are well rounded. I would make sure they were fit and flexible. I would also make sure they talked to and interacted with other people their age(I would go into town with them from time to time) so they develop socially as well. I also believe this would give them a strong connection to nature.

just wondering if people think this would work or if I'm just crazy.

    I hope they have internet access... I was brought up living in the middle of nowhere and it did impair my social skills somewhat, also it can get boring with nothing to do and feeling disconnected from the rest of the world.

    I think the ideal place to be raised is in a small town.

      I don't know why anyone gave you a thumbs down when you speak from experience and are 100% right.

      There are a lot of incestuous relationships in the sticks when they don't mix with a wide variety of different people in towns.

    I am inclined to believe it wouldn't work. However, that is just my opinion. Prove me wrong if that is really what you desire in life. It's not completely unrealistic.

    I think this is a good idea. That way they can grow up to become man and wife and give you beautiful grand kids.

    Maybe, if your wife agrees, you could try this for awhile, but then ask your kids if they like living this way because sometimes it's not the best option to force the life you wished you had onto your kids.
