Question for people who spend time alone

I'm generally an introverted person. I can get by on my own, and accomplish more by myself. But then, I just feel depressed; self-conscious, like I am doing something wrong by choosing to be alone. Does anyone else do this? It makes it hard to have a good time if I start thinking it pathetic to be laughing at a tv show or movie by myself. I like people, but something tells me to stay away.

Shit, when that thought hits my brain, I feel so sad.
But I do like solitude. Maybe not too much. It's all about finding balance.

I say no it is not normal. You are becoming far too self aware... Overfocussing on yourself will make you depressed. Time alone is only worth it if you can take yourself for granted most of the time... Get my drift? You need more balance, more socialisation...:)

  • I prefer being alone if you dont like being alone then why are you choosing to be, its pointless.

  • I love being alone. I mean, I love my friends, and I love being with them, but a lot of the time I'd much rather stay at home by myself. It's much more comfortable for me, and I just like to think about a lot. So yeah, it's normal.

I'm pretty similar to this. I used to have a lot of friends, but as I get older, I start to get tired of all the bullshit.

It is normal, just make sure you have fun with your friends from time to time - don't lose your friends just because you like to be alone, because they can be really valuable.
But yeah, alone time is good.

I've spent more time alone in the past ten months than in any of my life preceding that. Where I used to really look forward to my alone time, now it's not so special any more. I've noticed how often I now put the TV on and leave it on mute just to get over the impression of solitude.
