Question for left-handed people

If you could play an instrument of your choice, would you still play the traditional way or would you get a custom made left handed instrument? While I do have a left handed guitar, my boyfriend is trying to teach me drums but its just a cluster fuck because im trying to lead with my left hand on a right handed set up and it confuses both of us... terrible decision.

What would you do?

    Im not left handed but I am a musician. For insturments like guitar and bass guitar, having it made for left handerd people would be easier. Insturments like keyboards and drums are more ambidextrous and dont have right or left handed models. With drums you may just want to put the snare and hihat on the other side.

      Good point. (or maybe im just very uncoordinated). Piano is the only instrument that I play the normal way.

      Yeah, well said. I did see what this Jamaican Rasta called a left hand bongo drum one time, but me thinks he be 'doin de ganja', man.

    I'm pretty sure that some drums can't be switched around for lefties but you're meant to basically mirror the whole thing but I'm not really sure how that works. There's probably something on google telling you how to set up.

    I have 7 different left handed guitars. You don't mess with silly right handed guitars, not even symmetrical ones where you swap the strings, if you're a lefty.

    I'm trying to picture how drums can be right handed? I kinda don't get it? Surely you can just swap the hihat and snare?

      All im sating is thst if I leave the hihat and snare in rgeualr position. I get confused. If we swap their position, he gets confused trying to show me something. Its obnoxious having to switch them every 2 seconds. I like piano and guitar better anyway.
