Public etiquette. people are assholes.

I just never cease to be amazed at what a complete asshole my fellow man can be. Ok here's one: I'm walking down the isle in a supermarket and up ahead of me there's this old man with wide set shoulders lumbering down the isle swinging his arms like a gorilla. I can't get past him so I'm inching my way along (because he's so fucking slow and retarded) looking for an opportunity to pass him. Finally I just say fuck it. I walk up and have to totally slide past him and he doesn't even pay attention or attempt to move.

Here's another one: You're walking down an isle in a store when you encounter two Beckies chatting away inanely with shopping carts filled to the brim with bullshit. You get to within 3 feet of them and they refuse to acknowledge your presence and instead go on chatting. They make you actually make a request for them to move and then they begrudgingly do so.

I'm just really disappointed that everyone is encapsulated in their own little moronic world and they refuse to even try to be aware of others. What's causing this anti-social, alienating behavior? It's astounding how callous, uncaring, unhealthy, mean, and inconsiderate humanity in the first world has become. Any thoughts? I really wish this wasn't normal, but we all know that this is a widespread epidemic of biblical assholish proportions.

Or when black people walk in the road on purpose, almost daring you to hit them with your car.

      When anyone does that.

I sometimes deliberately swerve so I do hit them. It's fun.

What's not normal is that you think this is not how it's always been. Things like social media and the general vibe of the culture aren't helping any but there's absolutely no evidence whatsoever that people are any worse (subjective at best) now than they ever were.

And as said above, if this (shopping issues) is the sort of thing that's on your problem list, you live a rather posh life.

If you truly think they are assholes, then teach them to be better. Either lead with exemplary etiquette (lead by example), or make a loud roaring sound and attempt to crash through their barricade (showing them how being an asshole is actually a problem for others), because they will definitely understand what an asshole is after that.

Ha ha, first world problems and I'll bet you'd get around the supermarket with much less hassle if you smiled at people instead of looking for issues to upset yourself about. How many other people were shopping who didn't annoy you? Get a sense of proportion

This: This post is very similar to what I would have posted, however, you beat me to the punch and instead of making a parrot post, I am giving you credit for sharing an idea we both have.

It's amazing how many people think this.

Stop and think for a while you have no idea what shit this person is going through.

I've recently lost faith in humanity. Respect has suddenly lacked in society and I'm sick of it. People now just care about themselves, and I can say I'm somewhat guilty, but those are only my bad days ;P

what a complete asshole my can be. I'm this old man with wide set shoulders lumbering down the isle swinging arms like a gorilla. I so fucking slow and retarded. I doesn't even pay attention.

bullshit. refuse to acknowledge presence. begrudgingly.

I'm moronic. What's causing this anti-social, alienating behavior? It's astounding how callous, uncaring, unhealthy, mean, and inconsiderate I epidemic of assholish proportions.

I hope that has helped you.

No. I meant it. You have to face the truth in the mirror. You have become what you hate. You have become what you complain about.

Interesting point. That very well could be true. Whenever I think of myself that Dennis Leary song, Asshole always comes to mind.

When you consider that most people barely have enough brain power to tie their shoes correctly it's not that surprising. This exact thing used to bother me a LOT but now I just roll with it. When I was in my twenties I used to think that the world could improve if people would just change small things. Now I realize the problems run so deep that none of us will be alive to witness the abolition of religion, world peace or anything else on a large scale. Just amuse yourself. If the "Beckies" are engaged in a bug conversation just lean on the cart and get involved. Then when they give you an "omg wtf" look just excuse yourself and say "well, you were blocking the entire fucking aisle so I figured I might as well get to know you."Then bang them both.

In a way, I see what you're saying. People can be inconsiderate, but honestly it doesn't bother me THAT much. By the time I've left the store I've already forgotten about it.

Assholeism. It has always been and always will be. People will always fuck people. Embrace it and masturbate. These are the secrets of life.

Indeed, the majority of our population fails to comply to common etiquette and decency. It's depressing.

Don't forget the misbehaved children in the store too, running around and screaming at the top of their lungs and the parents don't do a damn thing about it.

Ugh i hate those. I just want to yell at them "SHUT THE FUCK UP" or better yet kick them in the stomach to make them shut up... and the parents as well.

Sounds like you expect people to read your mind to me. Most people are too wrapped up in themselves to be concerned about others. It's okay to just say excuse me and then walk on through.

That's exactly what the problem is. I'm extremely aware of what's around me and I can't understand why people are so retarded and into themselves that they can't pull their heads out of their asses once in a while. It's not ok to say excuse me. And do you really think those beckies DIDN'T see me? They sure did. They're assholes. That's what this whole post is about. And it got a whopping 88 percent normal too.

Why is it not okay to just say excuse me and then plow on through? That's what I do, and it works for me. I can't expect people to read my mind, and be constantly anticipating my next move or need. Like I said earlier they're too wrapped up in their own stuff to know or care about my wants or needs. I think you're expecting way to much of total strangers.

How is this obsession of yours with poor manners of complete strangers working out for you? Is this helping you in some way, how so?
