Public dumping

I'm a hoarder and sometimes the knee deep trash gets a little overwhelming so I will use small bags and make little daily trips to trash bins in local parks and grocery stores. Is it normal for some people to get rid of their trash this way? I'm paranoid about people digging through my trash so I don't use the garbage pick up service.

I thought this was going to be something entirely different, but it still isn't normal.

I feel disappointed. This post was so close to being interesting, that I almost smiled.

You still have your mind on Britain, don't you? Public dogging. Public dumping. Bring a video camera along with your binoculars if you decide to go. You could make some money to pay for your airfare.

Well, a good dump is a thing of beauty. Seems silly to go all the way across the pond just to let your bowels loose.

I feel like this was meant as a very subtle troll post. OP has probably been studying the fine art of trolling.

I knew when I read that title that if you weren't OP, you'd pipe up with something like that. Nice to see you again!

A little OCD paranoid, but a lot better than letting trash pile up to the ceiling in your house or dumping it on the street.

  • It’s good that you’re getting rid of the trash. Keep doing it.

Blind conformity is paying $80 for trash service when you have less than small waste paper basket each week. I toss mine in the bin when I fill up my car. Shred any paperwork with your address on it.

    • So you’re happy to let someone else to pay for your trash removal? That’s conforming to something else entirely.

Yes, conforming to equitable conduct. I can pay $10/kg, or the store can pay 4 cents on my behalf for $2 in profit they gain from me. It's a win-win for everybody.

        • What? Where are you pulling these numbers from, besides your ass?
Aren’t you some day trader type and you’re crying over 80 bucks? Sheesh.

Nope. You're thinking of Rich_Guy. I'm just middle class shlep that maxed out my retirement and has $1.3M. It's enough for golf once a month, a restaurant breakfast everyday, and a trip to Europe every now and then. I can't waste money because I'm not rich.

            • I have no idea who that is, but he sounds like an asshole. Use your neighbors’ garbage and stop sticking it to small business owners then. And cut down on the bacon and eggs too. Porridge is cheaper and better for you beanie.

Ever think your hoarding and paranoia are related to a deeper psychological issue?

  • Illegal in most areas to dump household garbage in park trash cans. Shred your stuff and use your own garbage.

Yesterday morning, there was a chair in the middle of the highway, like one of those big, cushioned office chairs on wheels. I was in the right lane, the chair was sitting in the middle lane. First, I had to slam on my breaks because the car just a little ahead of me in the middle lane had to swerve from hitting the chair cutting me off in the process. Then, a truck behind me in the middle lane smashed right into the chair smashing it into several pieces. My question is, who the hell left that chair in the middle lane of the highway?

Do what you're doing, but also use your public trash service. Who cares what others think! I'm sure some see you with little trash bags anyways so I don't see a problem actually putting it out on your street. Maybe they wonder why you don't?
If anything it'll help remove some of the junk you have in your home.
Get some help. I know it isn't easy, but it'll ease your mind.

Not normal. No one will dig through your trash. Why do you even care if someone does? It's trash.

    • Because when you become an adult there is all kinds of information on nearly every piece of paper you get that can cause problems in the wrong hands. Bank statements, pay stubs, credit card accounts...etc. Someone can even pirate your cable tv on an app just by knowing the account info.

Then throw away that specifically in public places if you're so worried about it.

        • I said in an early comment to shred that stuff and use your own damn garbage. Using public trash receptacles for household trash is illegal in most places in the USA, probably all places.

  • What is the cause for your fear of people digging through your trash? Is there something you want to hide?

its fine , look trash pickup services are usually a flat rate and not by the pound so even if you are taking up room in a trash bin its not costing any one extra money. Its illegal but so is marriage without a license. in other words Big fucking deal right. I mean if i go fishing without a license and catch a fish im still going to eat it , eating fish is still legal. they can only put me in jail and execute me for fishing without a license. if someone used my trash can its unlikely i would be upset so a dumpster is something i wish more people would use . Hell if it were up to me i give you some sort of presidential environmental improvement medal, for the trash. For eating the fish your going straight to hell.
