I can think of several reasons for this.
1 - He's seeing dead people. I know people that can do this. And yes, there has been solid proof.
2 - He's faking it. If you trust him, this is probably not the case.
3 - He's schizophrenic. Watch "A Beautiful Mind", it will clear things up.
4 - He still has imaginary friends. Uncommon, but not unheard of. Something could be going wrong in his like that caused this to happen.

This does happen to people, and believe me it's not fun. One of my friends feels hands touching her at night and feels like they're trying to drag her out of her bed.

If you ever wondered why children usually see things that adults don't, there is an actual scientific reason. There is a gland in the brain called the pineal gland which produces a substance called dimethyltriptamine which makes people see these things and helps with our creativity. As we get older our pineal gland gets all clogged up with toxins and crap from our bad lifestyles, chemicals, fluoride etc and our brains don't produce as much of this substance, except some adults continue to. I think that could be where the term 'trippy' comes from.

dude.. your friend has whats called schizophrenia he needs to see a psychologist immediatly and steer clear from any and all illegal drugs because they will fuck his brain up permanently. Your friend needs to get prescribed medication or he will slip deeper and deeper into this psychotic state as he grows older. This is extremely urgent, had a friend with the same problem, now he's locked up. This is not a joke.

Maybe your friend just has very good imagination. I had a friend like that too, and I just played along. You can just have a game like that. I think it's normal.

im freekishly good about doing weird things like pulling the name im thinking of out of a hat or picking up the card im thinking of out of a deck. Ive never heard of anything like this, infact this sorta freaks me out! I saw a ghost once of my own in my back yard when ui was about six. All i saw a green floating thing. the next day i looked all around there wasnt anything i could have mistacted it for. that really freaked me out but i think its what gave me my "powers". I dont see why your friend is the only one who would see these figures. i really cant help you sorry! All i know is im ganna have nightmares tonight!

I have seen and heard many things which I can't explain so I wouldn't discount him out of hand. Just don't make a big deal out of it and see what happens. If he is pulling your leg then he wont be able to say gotcha!
