Protein and fibre doesn't keep me full, iin?

Protein doesn't keep me full. I recently began to increase the amount of protein in my diet for a number of reasons. It doesn't matter if it's animal based or plant based, it doesn't keep me full.

Animal-based use to keep me full for a few hours. Now, I can eat a hotdog and be starving a few minutes after eating it. Another hotdog, and I'm still starving.

I recently ate a bowl of chickpeas and I was starving within a few minutes.

Foods containing fibre don't usually keep me full either.

Dairy doesn't keep me full, with the exception of ice cream.

I have a very fast metabolism. It was fast when I was young but back then, I would get too full too quickly.

The only thing that seems to keep me full is rye bread (the length of fullness depends on what I put on it), and potatoes.

My grocery bill keeps hitting at $200+ because, I eat so much. I can't keep affording this!

I thought protein (and fibre) were supposed to make people feel full. Is there something wrong with me or is this normal?

    Include rice in your meals.

    • I had to cut rice out of my diet. It makes people short (I'm still growing) and it made me feel sick and, gave me inflammation.

I also cut out oats (they made me feel sick) and wheat. The only grain I eat now is rye. It's barely kept me full today.

If you are getting inflammation from rice you probably have an allergy to it. Also oats are probably not going to add much to your diet but I still recommend CARBING up.

        • I eat wheat and Rye now. I feel great with Rye, but the fullness isn't always there. How I feel with wheat depends, but I've been feeling better with it lately. I'm going to try corn.

You could try eating more unsaturated fats. Fats have a satiating effect on the appetite because they promote the production of oleoylethanolamide (OEA) which affects the nerves in your small intestine that make you feel hungry.

    • I eat fat mainly in the form of coconut oil and yogurt. I also get it from olive oil and hemp seed oil.

CARBS, CARBS, CARBS! If you are not full with protein and fiber you need CARBS. I started getting really skinny for awhile but I added snack cakes(Ding dongs) to my diet. I eat them whenever I have not had enough to eat. It helps!

You might not be getting enough or the right kinds.

        • I've since changed my diet up by adding beans, drinking almond milk, and eating Pasta with cheese. I'm staying fuller longer.
