I am a chronic procrastinator. My advice is simple - force yourself to get it together enough to save money and buy a ticket to Thailand, or somewhere like that. Backpacking is excellent for the lazy procrastinator.

And remember - the more things you do, the easier it is to do things!

doesn't work, i'm in phuket now, somehow got this far, but did i go see big buddha, no. phi phi islands? no. monkey hill? forget about it, i don't even know where the day went.

the solution for me is have motivated people around me that get me to do sht. otherwise my mind is constantly diverging. i'm sure thats how i just ended up on this site now.

I procrastinated on writing this message a little. It is bad for me...I should be in therapy or something for it, but I'm putting off making the calls.
I utterly hate it. I need willpower to build willpower--as you can see I'm FULL of excuses. If you find the answer please don't procrastinate to share.

I used to do that. Seriously I'd sit down for homework, get up to get a drink and then play with the dog and watch tv and then sit back down to do it and realize I was hungry and then watch more tv and then take a shower and it was never ending till I would finally be at the deadline of when it was do and somehow whip it out, usually if I was lucky. So i found out it's called ADD and they prescribe medicine for you that takes away your personality and only works if you are doing what you need to be focusing on while waiting for the medicine to kick in Which defeats the whole purpose. Let's say while waiting for it to kick in you get distracted with something and then your medicine decides to start working. Your going to be doing that something you got distracted with all day long. At least that is my experience with ADD

Same problem. It's pretty bad. The only way honestly is just to focus. When you decide you're going to do something, just do it. And when you get distracted and realize you're distracted, just start again. It's hard but eventually you'll get used to it sorry I don't have any magic advice.

Try no technology for about 3 days...i bet you money you will feel better...more focused and more aware of your life! I take these 3 or 4 day breaks when I'm feeling over stimulated or have a big paper due lol

  • do what i do. give yourself a goal other than what your supposed to do that takes more work. like revers pshycholagy on your self, you'll do the real work to procrastinate the out there goal. but you have to make the out there goal real, or it won't have any affect. i also find that if you find a way to constantly over remind yourself, you'll get annoyed and just do it.

Tie it to your personal dateline and plan for the things you'd do in the hours after completing your homework.
