So, I've been having a problem accessing this site lately, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

When I click on a post, I'd say about 75% of the time, I get an advertisement that redirects me either to another website or to the App Store on my phone. I then have to close the window, log back into the site. If I try to read the same post; it happens again.

This means I simply can't read or comment on most of the posts here, basically rendering the site unusable for me.

I thought it was a problem with my phone, or just a new thing with the website in general...HOWEVER, I discovered if I log into an alt account, I can read anything I want...it works just fine. So it's just MY account, which is bullshit, especially since I have gold.

So what's the deal? Thoughts?

    Hi Folks. In the future, please send feedback for something like this so that I'm aware of it sooner.

    I'll check with my mobile ads provider and try to resolve the issue. It's definitely not intended.

      Just checked. This is a bug! Ads are never supposed to show up on IIN if you're signed in. Should be fixed now. Please let us know if you have any other similar problems. Thanks

        I've sent feedback asking why I'm blocked from commenting on anti-hero's posts. How come I haven't got a response, if sending feedback isthe best way to get things done? I have no received so much as an acknowledgement.

    That happens to me too on my phone, I just hit refresh and the ad usually goes away, the App store redirect is pretty irritating though, seems quite shady too since I don't even know what it's going to (half the time it just goes to a blank page) probably a bug, like the management used fix back in the days when they actually gave a shit... :S

    IIN mods have it out for certain users. I know someone, you know who and she can't comment on any of my stories or polls.

      I can't even access my own post...look at that.

      So, it's just YOUR stories and polls?

      I figured the answer would be something more reasonable, but given that fact, I can't really think of any other explanation then, although that's pretty fucked up.

      I'm not quite sure what I did to get on the shit list, unless ItDuz has mod status.

      It's kind of a shame because I can't even access my notices, and I know people have replied to questions I asked them on other threads.

      Oh well; I guess I'll have to be one of those assholes with alts for the time being.

        The mod is now the only person remotely connected to IIN anymore and she is incompetent at best. Udi has basically jumped ship.

        And this is why I stopped buying gold for anyone.

    Alternative account?
    I couldn't find anything in the guidelines that alternative accounts are against policy (strangely), but I have never seen a reason why an alternative account should be allowed.

    The concern is you could create multiple alternative accounts and then click up your respect on posts or even down on other users! It seems it should not be something that is 1. Normal to everyone, 2. Allowed when you have 'problems' using this site.

    When you have problems it would be wiser to 'contact' IIN staff, and not make posts polls or anything on the site itself.

    IIN if this website has problems? No, not from what I've seen for a reasonable amount of time. If YOU have problems contact IIN staff ;)

      The consensus here among all of the regular users is that "management" is no longer available to solve problems with the site. So, it can be more efficient to make a post about it. The users here are quite helpful with offering solutions to website problems.

      As far as alternate accounts go, no it isn't against the rules. Of course, there are plenty of people that abuse the privilege. I just don't like doing it, unless I'm doing it as a joke. I personally find it disingenuous, although I don't really have a problem with other people doing it to preserve their anonymity or whatever.

    I use mobile and I get a blank page or a small ad and refresh takes care of it.

    It sounds a lot more like a virus than a mod thing. Why would a mod send you to another site?
    I've had no problems that aren't related to 3rd world access speeds.

      That's what I thought at first. It seemed like the most logical explanation.

      Except, I can access this site fine using an alternate account (aka another user name on IIN), plus I don't have problems accessing any other sites from my phone.
