It's natural that you be insecure about your appearance. It will always remain largely the same, but your confidence and ego will vary greatly depending on a large number of factors.
Your best bet is to ask a few people who don't know you, and thus have no reason to be dishonest to you, either to spare your feelings, flatter you, or have a biased opinion. Go by what they say and you should have a general idea of where you stand.
