Preoccupied with someone of same sex

I am a freshman and she is a senior, and we were on a school team together. We occasionally stop and talk to each other to say hi but we don't know each other well at all. I have always thought of myself as straight, but this is making me think that I might be bicurious or something. She is really nice, and I think really pretty, and for whatever reason I can't go a day without something reminding me of her. We are friends on facebook, and i find myself looking at pictures of her all the time. I can't get her out of my head even though I really want to at this point. I thought I must have had a crush on her for a while, and now I'm not sure but either way she keeps popping into my mind. So, is this normal, and also, what do you think I should do about it?

Definitely normal, at least to me. I've had these feelings for a long time now. I feel your pain.

  • I guess if the issue is your sexuality, as others here seem to have settled on, then you might consider: how do you feel about other women?

But this sounds pretty specific to one person, and not all that sexual. More like a jumbled mixture of admiration & other feelings/issues that have you excited/preoccupied.

I say don't be freaked out or feel you need to do anything further to get her "out of your head." Just accept this little infatuation.

It's not weird at all to be preoccupied with someone of the same gender. Happens to me all the time. It won't turn into something sexual unless you choose for it to.

I have heard that it is common for chicks. Never had any gay thoughts myself, but I have to say if I was a chick, I would be with another chick, there is just something about the physical beauty of women, they are like living works of art, crafted my a master sculptor.

do you think about her sexually or do you just admire her and think she's pretty? if you have no sexual feeling towards her, then it could just be a girl-crush. you might be bi-curious though. it's pretty common for girls to go through that even if later in life they end up deciding it isn't right for them and they just prefer men.

I had the same thing when I was 14 I was obsessed with this girl, I also wanted to be her too. Then when I was 16 I decided to try it out with girls I had a few and it was great but the feelings faded by the time I was 20 and now I think Im pretty straight. I still think its normal to fancy girls as they are the most beautiful sex!

Yeah, i think it's normal, i think it's just part of the age too. i don't know of anyone who hasn't thought about if they were gay or not, at least once in their life.
i know for me, i am quite feminine in nature...(at least moreso than other guys), have lots of girl friends, and have found a certain few guys to be extremely attractive...
but i know where i stand, and i know i feel better being where i am, then going the extra step and being with a guy.

I know the feeling. You could be 'bicurious', but this also could just be in your head. Try not to worry about it and see how you feel without your worry tugging you down.

i think its perfectly normal. im in the same situation only with a guy. dont be worried, if she makes you happy thats the way to go. i would say something to her too. i told the guy how i felt and he happened to feel the same way but we cant work something out bc of the age difference.

If you're bisexual, you'll know. Give it some time. Imagine a kiss in your head. Does it feel right? Replay that over and over again until you have the same feelings constantly. Then, you'll know.
