Preoccupied with lists

I am obsessed with lists. Let me explain, I find it difficult to get up and get ready in the morning if I don't have every step written out. I feel like I will skip some thing or do it wrong. What's the point of doing anything if you do it half way, or wrong? I know this is irrational, but I don't feel like I can help it most of the time. I write out lists for everything. IIN?

Yes it is normal if you are ocd and don't be ashamed of it. My sister has it and does this.

I'm sure you're not alone, but you're wasting a lot of your life if you're more concerned with the list than with action. Keep the list in your head but don't freak out if you veer off track. Look at the bigger picture. You can't enjoy anything if you're analyzing everything to death.

The point of doing something wrong is to gain the experience and learn.

I wouldn't say I freak out if something unexpected happens, but if I get too far off track I get really discouraged and depressed or anxious. Ugh! I need to fix this.

I always write lists at work, but not at home, unless it's a grocery list. My husband tells me I have OCD though for other reasons
