Pregnancy has made me hate the smell of indian people

So I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy and my nose is incredibly sensitive. I feel like I can smell peopke everywhere I go and most of it is unpleasant, especially on the bus. However, by and large the body odour of indians/pakistanis/north africans is making me gag!! I can't even describe it but its got to be something about their diet or culture that is making THEIR body scent just worse for me. I can't even complain about it because I'll inevitably be called racist but I can't help my biological response to a smell!! Worst bit is I sit near a guy who is some kind of african/Arabic decent and I have to literally waft his smell away with a fan.If I asked to be moved I would probably be carted off to some bullshit sensitivity training, but the smell is like a cloud and anywhere within a 5 foot radius smells!!

As you said, pregnancy makes you sensitive to smell. That's a common occurrence. It will probably be more about the spice in the foods people from these cultures eat than anything else - the way they are processed through the body can create a smell on the skin or something. I'm not sure of the exact science behind it.

Maybe it will fade after the first trimester, but Idk.

It is a legit thing that some smells are unbearable during pregnancy. Perhaps if you ask to be moved and state why, rather than making it about someone else? Unless you don't feel you can announce your pregnancy yet :/ then idk. Maybe pregnancy safe essential oils nearby?

It's more noticeable because you're pregnant, but the smell is definitely there. Like nikkiclaire said; it's not racist pointing out differences. And most people of the races mentioned smell bad, in my opinion.

Then just take a brake & rest at home, you are pregnant anyway so it'll help you.

I get it and have smelled the same thing. It must be tumeric.

I have the same reaction to black peoples skin. It feels and smells very different and I am not racist either. Pointing out differences isn't racist.
