Prefer to be alone?

I am very content being alone (except for my dog). I never get bored nor do I long for human company. I just wonder if I am weird in that regard.

Same! but a lot of people who say that dont actually mean it, and just use it as a defense when really they long for human contact. unless you are asexual and / or borderline autistic (considering the true meaning of the word rather than the disorder), that is a possibility

I am older (64) and I've always been like this. I am fine in social situations, however, I am happiest being alone. I was married and lost my wife 18 years ago--have dated some--but I find it hard to start over. I just don't feel the need to be dependent on other people's company. I live in a cabin on a lake in the woods and I am never lonely.

Ah okay, sounds legit then. I thought you might be someone in their early 20s going thru that 'i hate everyone and want to be alone' phase. youre living the dream- great place to live. near acadia? or more north?

  • I’m generally the same, I don’t mind hanging out with others, but I just get overwhelmed after awhile.

I’m generally content as an extrovert, although I wish I was a natural extrovert.
