I'm 17 and can not listen to any pop songs for example J.L.S or The Wanted, they all seem to sound the same even though they are different in ethnic groups and of different sizes.

I also think that its thrust upon us, rammed down our throats by the radio Dj's.
I know and understand that all music genres follow trends but the cliché of a man being so sensitive and an independent strong woman is just boring me to tears.

I had this view ever since I heard "The smiths" "Panic" where Morrissey sings "hang the dj hang the dj because the music that he constantly plays has nothing to do with my life" and I agree with him whole heartedly. Give me some feedback and what you think thanks for reading

    So listen to other shit. I like classic rock. The doors, the beatles, alman bros., zeplin, floyd, csny, neil young, james taylor..etc..etc. Though being 28 it's not exactly the music of my generation. Anyway, my point being, listen to whatever the fuck sounds good to you and let others do the same.

    I love music, from old school rock to punk, indie, brit pop, ska, reggae, dancehall, electro, dubstep mostly old skool 90s hip hop & drum n bass - they are my faves. but all the pop music nowadays (inc the rnb/hip hop you hear on the radio) sounds like horrible auto-tuned sticking pointed things in my ears. Your normal in thinking this because you are right - all the pop music does sound like shit.

    No it's not dead at all. There's tons of amazing artists out there, but people tend to ignore them, despite the fact that they get decent airplay. Take Two Door Cinema Club, for example. Kasabian, deadmau5, I could name more but it's redundant.

    Yes just variate the music you listen to! I listen to Metal, Rock and Punk but when I get bored by listening to it I change to Electro(Dubstep, Techno or Trance) or Rap!

    I do listen to The Smiths and Arctic Monkeys but when you're sat in a car every radio station plays the same manufactured crap, and another thing is Xfactor was trying to make the alternative rock mainstream with that coke addict guy it made me so mad.
