Political correctness is creating a shitty society?

From my observations, society really started to go downhill when Political Correctness came into being. Of course, PC isn't the only factor that has lead to this weakness and ridiculousness, but it is one of the main factors.

After it took effect, humans were no longer able to speak their minds on certain subjects without fearing some sort of nonsensical overreaction. It's as if the once mature adults have now become immature children. Everything is offensive nowadays. People get so butthurt, often times over extremely minor issues. (etc.)

Am I correct in my observations? What do you think about all of this?

To translate- You are upset when others say they are upset about something upsetting you said.

    • To clarify, I wasn't upset. It doesn't usually upset me, simply because I don't let it do so. I don't like PC, but it certainly doesn't make me upset.

Well you certainly sounded upset. I'm glad you're feeling better now.
It's not good to get upset because you can get angina or break a blood vessel or something and that's never good.
The next time you find you're getting upset please try to simmer down or you might upset your digestive process increasing your chances of uncontrollable diarrhea and we certainly don't want that to happen.
Would you care for a TicTac? They're very good.

        • Wouldn't explosive butt juice be an absolute godsend? Who wouldn't enjoy that? Sure, the smell may be rather intense, and it may be somewhat painful (Who knew that liquid movement could be so spicy and painful?), but it would be worth it.

Not worth enough to get it during a marathon or while giving birth. "Sorry, Doctor! I hope that our date for Friday is still on. You know, my spouse still doesn't suspect a thing!" *Gives the doctor a nice, sexy wink*

    • That was a good link you gave. I knew that it was bad, but I didn't know that it was this bad. Despicable.

I think you would have to give specific examples. I also think that you might slightly be full of it.

Adults have ALWAYS been sensitive about certain issues. I do believe that there was a MASSIVE tidal wave of political over-correctness but I think that it has passed, for the most part. What is left is that minorities now feel more empowered to say "hey, don't judge me or my lifestyle, you don't even know me". The days of being able to laugh at someone for their race, gender and so forth in a public manner outside of High School are starting to fade out. Starting to.

If you're talking about anything you've seen on the internet, though, I can't take you too seriously. You'd have to be specific about the situation you're upset about because, in my experience, if you're dealing with most adults and you have half the sense to speak to them with some sort of tact, then you shouldn't be running into this problem too often.

    • Butthurt for saying that I don't agree with PC? That sounds like an easy statement on your part. PC doesn't make me feel butthurt, because I don't let it. You can dislike something and not be offended by it.

But there ARE no losers. EVERYBODY who plays is a winner. Let's give trophies to every player on both teams. Why even keep score?
And people are shocked that the greatest country of the 20th century faded away to the impotent, morally and financially bankrupt nation that it is today.
Yep, PC, Affirmative Action and all those other programs that rewarded laziness and ineptitude and punished hard work and industry, certainly helped ruin this country.

The 20th century has passed. Like all the other centuries and other countries that were great during them.

Once again, you missed the point. Way missed the point. Who do you think are the work force and movers and shakers, today? It's those very kids who were taught that everybody wins and there are no losers. The ones raised in a society that set no limits and offered them no challenges or training to deal with the real world.
Please bellatrice, if you are just too slow to understand what the adults are talking about, just be a good girl and read the posts. You only make a fool of yourself by chiming in like you do.

Hmm, okay. Perhaps despite being female and young and therefore automatically written off by you, I am possessed of meagre enough intelligence to know that society is so much better, as you say, for setting limits, and also if you can belittle them a bit, all the better. Keep them down, yeah?

I really do not understand this post. Honestly. Do you actually advocate raising children with no limits? Do you expect to have your child prepared to go out in the world at 18, thinking there is no need to work hard or compete, that trying is more than enough?
I just do not understand what you think I'm trying to say here, and therefor, your point.

Why would you raise a child and impose limits on what that child can achieve? It seems like you are proscriptive. Why should you limit other people? Especially your children. Why do you want to limit them?
