Heros | 39 |
Stupid question. Obviously some are bullies and some are heroes and the rest fall somewhere in between, just like the rest of humanity.
If you are a criminal, or a thug, you will most likely see them as bullies. If you are not a criminal, or a thug you will most likely see them as heros. It is a matter of perspective. In Dallas all of those protesters said they didn't like the bully police. But when the shooting started, they ran to the police and cried "protect and save me". None of them tried to stop the shooter but expected the bully cops to rush in and save their sorry asses. Which they did.
That's interesting because if you look on Russia Today you can see the guy shoot the cop. It's a 49 second video if my memory serves correctly.
I think what happened is too many police got shot and then "they ran and the and police cried 'come save me'"
That's why they blew his ass up because he shot so many of them.
Swedish police is the best. American police, eeeeh, no. They need to step up their game.
This question cannot be answered, as it is framed in such a way that pretends the truth is not an option.
In the UK, whilst there is corruption in high policing, for the most part we (the general public) enjoy a good relationship with them.
Heroes? No, most of them are just doing the job they signed up for. You are only a hero when you put your life at risk to save the lives of others. Most of the time, and with all due respect, the police are not doing this. Most of the time they are giving parking infractions, or telling some drunks to vacate a church graveyard.
It depends on the individual police officer as to whether or not I would see him or her as a hero or a bully. I don't think it's appropriate to label them all as one or the other. I personally have met more hero's than bullies, but it depends on the individual, each person is different.
when I was a kid or even a younger man they seemed a lot more level headed. Maybe I am just being nostalgic. Now they seem like they are hiring bullies and whoever's cheaper to keep the peace and it is not fucking working.
I vote Bully
Usually they are the people who were outcasts and bullied in school. They are usually not that smart and have an axe to grind.
Some of both, usually neither. They are people who do a job for money like everyone else.
it really depends honestly, you can get cops who seriously just want to help people and serve the public, while the majority are corrupt with a history of violence and abuse their power.
there's a reason why so many cops are eager to shoot first and ask questions later, and it's because the police force only accept people with low IQ's. coupled with many policeman being violent or sadistic, you get a cop that waves their power in your face and is not afraid to kill innocent people.
i grew up thinking that being a policeman was one of the best jobs you could get because of how many people you help, i actually once tried signing up to join however they rejected me because my IQ was too high. i now see that most policemen are corrupt, fat doughnut lovers.
FUCK THE POLICE
IQ too high?
Sounds like Georgia, believe it or not [and I am sure most won't believe this] but here in Georgia you can and will get passed over for a job if you are too smart.
I have been called an "Over Achieving person who does too much" I've been told to stop coming to work so early, a "Johnny on the Spot" because I don't procrastinate and slack off like everyone else and by my own manager to slow down and do less because "this is a marathon not a race".
whoa, that really happens? honestly that's pretty screwed up, if i was a manager i wouldn't mind if one of my co-workers were working hard, i'd actually be glad and probably give em a raise or something.
Yes that really happens and much more!
This place is so screwed up and backwards its pathetic. I actually have several fixes and improvements to make everyones job easier but said Fuckit. These idiots would just get jealous and pissed thinking I am trying to show off or something. Nobody knows what they are doing and nobody knows what anyone else is doing, so if John Doe gets sick his work stops because nobody knows anything. People come in late and get away with it, I'm talking hours late.
In other countries, a majority may be heros.
However, in America, it has always depend on your race no matter what. Due to what's happening in the news recently, the increase of police brutality, and the lack of justice, I'm cautious of the police.
To answer you're question, in the US, most of them feel like bullies. I know not all of them are like that and care about the American people deeply; but it's scary to think that if one of the crazy officers is having a bad day, he can just "legally" shoot someone and his entire department will back him up. Police officers should enforce the law, not be above it.
Since this is a forced black and white question (no pun intended) I say that police are heroes. You spell heroes with an -es btw. Police want to be policemen because they seek justice and peace. Every one of them is flawed to a degree, some far worse than others, but the media is giving every single living and breathing policeman a bad image based off of a few unfortunate moments. Cops bust crimes. Cops risk their own lives to ensure that we live in a safe environment. If all cops were bullies, we'd be in North Korea, not in 'Murica...
Both. I got pulled over, I don't remember what for now. It was a young cop and a old one. The young one was giving me shit. The older one was just asking normal questions. I asked the older one why the younger one was giving me shit. He seemed to think it a reasonable question. He took over and all went well. I showed respect and said yes sir- no sir. Soon I was on my way.
I had done nothing wrong. It was just late at night.
