My honest opinion is that it's lame.
The most creative thing about it is the frame, which you admitted to buying for $1. It's not particularly interesting, controversial in the way that someone desperate for attention is - so doesn't actually challenge anybody's preconceptions or views, and just looks like you had half an hour to kill and decided to print some pictures of the Manson 'family' off Google and put them in a collage.
So I'd give it a low rating.
Well thanks for that, I appreciate your opinion. My main purpose in making it was, well you can look above at my response to dom180, that's part of it....and then also I have a horror film poster collection and so I felt it would add to my decor in that particular room.
I wish I understood what might be profane about it. From this photo, it looks a bit simple. I feel I need to be able to read the smaller print?
Yeah, I wouldnt buy it. Its kind of amusing but sad. Like a special needs person painting a fire hydrant.
This is not art, this is a collage put into a frame. Art takes talent, not to mention, it's of a drug addicted cult leader pedophile....

I don't like the "y", it's too big. And there's a white space between two photos on the right side that I also dislike. Apart from that, I like it.
But I think you should have included more options. A "it's okay" one at least, because I don't love it but I don't hate it either, so I don't know what to vote...
I didn't make the frame, so I can't help that. It was $1. That's not a blank space there, it's actually one of those sign boards used in mugshots it just didn't come out clear in my photo. It's hard to take a photo of a photo.
Do a collage of Jeffrey Dahmer posing as Jesus at the last supper. He could be eating the 12 disciples/ apostles. That's what I would do to get a reaction from people =-O

I'm really interested in Manson and the Manson family...I think it's a cute idea, but I don't think it's quite as "shocking" or "profane" as you were aiming for =/

I refuse to judge something on such a small, crappy, low quality image that I can barely make out.
Its Manson the psycho-murderer and his nut-cake "family" of followers of course and the frame is a intended as a juxtaposition because it would ordinarily go with a non-violent ordinary family.
It's OK as an art class assignment but a little cute in the shock value/irony department IMO otherwise. I'm just saying that because none of your options fit.
I get it... and yes, I think it's rather clever. I wouldn't pay to own it, and I don't know how sale-able it is if you planned on selling it. I would recommend making your own frame as well, otherwise it feels a bit "slapdash" and "thrown together", if that makes sense, but then again that may have been the point.
I know nothing about art, by the way. Take anything I say with a very large pinch of salt.
I purchased the frame for some unknown reason months ago, I'd NEVER use it for actual family photos. I was high when I bought it, to be perfectly honest. So it was laying around my house for months and then the idea struck me to use it in this manner. It was this or it was going in the trash and I thought this was a pretty good idea.
I like it. Manson and his following has always fascinated and compelled me.
