Please help me. please!

I am a freshman in college and have had a hard time adjusting. I miss highschool, I miss all my old friends that I used to be close with, and I miss all the activities that I used to do with them. Even little stuff, like I miss eating lunch in the cafeteria with them. I even cry sometimes and just wish I could go back in time. I feel like I am grieving my childhood.we are all still friends, but I feel we are growing apart. I might be moving to wisconsin, and I am going to miss my old town. I find I have a hard time dealing with change. How can I stop feeling this way? how can I get over these changes and just be happy with where I am at in life? are there methods to cope with change? please help.

JUST TAKE THIS NEW CHANGE ONE DAY AT A TIME. WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH IS CALLED' GROWING PAINS. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!

Try not to think about it so much. Everyone goes through this. I bet you didnt move around much growing up. I moved 10 times in 4 states before I got to Chicago when I was 15 and have been here for 15 yrs now so Ive been there. Make new friends and hang out where your type of crowd would go. You just have to do it.

OOOOOOOOHH!!! I feel the same way :(
I feel like everything's bad right now. I miss everybody, I miss who I used to be...
I'd say that you have to focus in the good side, focus A LOT.

Maybe you'll be lucky & find some good friends.

    Good Luck :)

When I left home for the first time, I was about your age. I was leaving for the service, about an abrupt a change as going to college. First of all, give yourself a pat on the back for being admitted. Try to balance out your school work with activities at college. I think, too, you'll find that you aren't alone. If your feelings start interfering with your studies, visit one of the counselors. You'll be fine. Like chunkybongo says, you'll feel bigger andn better than ever before. Best of luck on your studies!

College is a rite of passage. That's a term meaning transition from child to adult. When you're past all the crying, you'll feel bigger and better than ever before.

It's been said that everyone is either busy being born or busy dying. Stagnation is death.
Making new friends and having new experiences does not mean you have to lose touch with your old friends. Especially with the internet, email, messaging, and all the social interaction sites available.
There are cafeterias everywhere, and eating lunch is not just a local custom.
Your %%u201Cnew%%u201D life should make for invigorated conversations with your old friends, and your %%u201Cold%%u201D life will be interesting for your new friends. Enjoy it.
