Please help me!!!

Am writing on here as I really need to know if something me and my freind have been doing is normal. I've had strong feelings of more than freindship for quite a while which she knows. Although she is straight and doesn't return the feelings somethink strange keeps happening between us. We often fall asleep together and masturbate not eachother, ourselves! We both pretend we're asleep when we are doing it, and have never discussed it. I just want to know if this means anything? Or if its just a normal thing to do?
