You both shouldn't be thinking of girls as meat.

Try meeting girls who are nicer and don't pierce their entire body, basically destroying it.

I was joking, but if we're going to go down this road - people are free to do with their own body as they wish. I've met plenty of sweet girls who had numerous piercings, and plenty of mean-spirited harpies with none (and even if I hadn't, correlation is not causality). Personality is not grounded upon one's piercings, so try not to conflate the two.

One can only hope that by then society will have progressed beyond archaic taboos and irrelevant life choices. Style of dress can indicate maturity, sure, but if you really think there's a direct association between how many piercings one has and how "nice" one is, then you're an idiot.

For the record, I have only one piercing and I'm still an asshole.

Except to other people!

Presentation is not just a big thing in business.
How we present ourselves outwardly, when we go out and socialize DOES determine how others see us, and respond. At least for the initial greeting (being the most important interaction when meeting others)

Even the b/f in this very article states that his girl may have come to her limit before she may be seen as 'trashy' to others. A respectful and responsible point of view, that mainly shows maturity on his part.

Although instead of adhering to this trusted warning. An is it normal post was made to re-confirm that others may (or may not) feel the same. Thus disrespecting the b/f advice and undermining the respect he originally gave freely.

Go ahead and continue to destroy your body with piercings your niceness won't change, on the inside!

Bull. shit.

That's not anything near what you said at first ("Try meeting girls who are nicer and don't pierce their entire body"), so nice revision there. Your new version is much more digestible. Good job.

I'm not the kind of person that thinks other people's judgments should be tuned out, so I agree with your revision. But young people do crazy-stupid things - always have, always will. That phase is an inevitable part of life's trajectory for most. And when they feel ready to enter society and be taken seriously, they will do so however they wish. And they will abandon their crazy-stupid things.

So let them be content with the comparatively SAFE crazy-stupid things like piercings, when there is a multitude of much worse things they could be doing, and often do. Hard drugs, unsafe sex, and drunk driving do much more damage to your body than a couple scars.

It's funny, but I do like piercings, I would like some more on my ears. However I wouldn't ever get any on my face, or elsewhere really. I don't have a problem when other people do, I know tonnes of people with facial piercings (Probably because I'm kind of gothicy, I know a lot of alternative types with tattoos and such too) I like them. I think they look nice, but I wouldn't get what they have.

I think it depends on the person, but 16 is my general limit.

Some people look great with more - or fewer - but it varies enormously.

I have 5 right now - 2 in each earlobe and my belly - but I'd love to get my wrist done.
However, I don't think many employers look kindly on any piercings, let alone ones in the wrist. As I'm trying to get a job, I'm a bit stuck for the moment.

Stretched ears is cool, or some ear piercings. Like a little nose rind as well or a lip ring.

As long as it's not excessive or huge metal chunks everywhere, it's cool.

I listen to extreme music, and love extensive tattoing, but as long as we're both dressed well nothing should show.

Freakish outfits, oddly shaved heads and colorful hair are a huge turnoff.

I'm a girl. I have two in each ear and a belly ring. After that, it starts to look trashy. When I see a nose peircing, I can never seem to figure out if it's a booger, pimple, or an ugly little diamond. It just looks trashy to have them all over your body. You will be judged by your peircings, and you don't want to make the wrong impressions.

Honestly five isn't that many I would say you really only have three piercing tho' not five lob piercings are pair piercing & only count as one in my book. if you think you would fine with more then get more. I personally have two lob piercing on each ear & dermal back dimple piercings which I consider to be four piercings but you would probably say six. I feel as long as you can hide them at work or during important events its fine to have as many as you want

Depends on the person, in my opinion. I knew a girl with a bridge piercing (bridge of the nose, right between the eyes) - sounds repulsive and ugly right? But somehow it totally worked. I don't know why, but it looked fantastic on her.

I've got snake bites, two barbels in my right eyebrow, a nostril stud, and two earrings in each ear. I got them because I like them, and they make me feel pretty, not because I think they'll make me more attractive to other people. That said, I think piercings on women are super cute. I'm attracted to many women with piercings.

How could pierced noses, stretched out deformed ears, sagging skinny jeans and death metal t shirts be in the least bit acceptable? I hate sounding like a dick, but you scene people suck! They say its cause they have been through something in life, bullshit. I've lost both parents, my sister was murdered, saw my best friends blown up right next to me in Afghanistan I have ptsd and I will never be a scene emo person!

You can have piercings and PTSD, dude. I'm very sorry you've had such awful things happen to you, but this isn't a contest to see who's been through worse things. Also, I don't think emo and scene styles have anything to do with claiming to have a hard life.

• iEatZombies_

Us scene people?? I have only my ears pierced and no tattoos. Scene kids and I don't get along. Also, how can you limit tattoos and piercings to SCENE KIDS?! My fiance's fat, balding, 50-something father has a tatoo! WTF.
Scene kids don't dress like that because they have bad lives, they do it because they effin like it. Some of them may happen to have bad lives, but it doesn't have anything to do with their style- wtf kind of reasoning is that?? It's simply your intolerance that makes you think nobody could happen to just like the way it looks.

On another note, yes it's horrid what happened to your family- but that doesn't mean other peoples problems, even though not as bad as yours, should lay unaffected by their own. I do know what I'm talking about- I've had an uncharacteristically bad life myself.

I agree. If there are people worse off than you, that doesn't mean that your problems are any less painful or legitimate. I used to be really depressed, and I felt guilty for my depression and like I didn't deserve help, because I knew that there were people in way worse situations than me. That, of course, made the depression much worse. It's just not a healthy way to view the world, and it's not nice to tell people that they're not allowed to talk about their problems because yours are worse.
