Personalized jewelry, is it trashy?

I don't know why but I hate personalized jewelry, like when people have necklaces that say "Jessica" or even worse, "MOM".
Its cute if a 6 year-old buys you a mom pendant but adult people getting their mother MOM jewelry seems so unoriginal, your mom is a person and doesn't necessarily want to be
labelled generic MOM on a cheap pendant or bracelet. When I see people wearing their name on jewelry I think Jersey Shore guidos, ghetto, or trashy. Theres nothing inherently bad about it, but it makes me cringe. I also hate vanity plates with peoples names or initials if it matters. IIN?

I don't find people that wear personalized jewelry trashy, guido-ish, or ghetto. Their accessories and vanity plates are no concern of mine.

My sister has a stupid necklace like that, but she's a raging asshole. So yeah...

    • ugh, sorry...
I think its because the majority or people I see with them are very ghetto or trashy, the types who yell their kids names through the mall while knocking over displays, and shoplift discount socks. But that's so many people in this area :P

Mwahahaha! That's so very true which makes it even funnier that my sister has a stupid diamond necklace with her name written in cursive. You see my sister is the opposite of ghetto and if anything I be willing to bet she's frightened by many persons of the ghetto persuasion.

I think she just likes seeing her name because she's an OCD narcissistic person. When we were little kids she used practice writing and signing her name in cursive in case she became rich and famous.

My cousin wrote her name in the dictionary under "Perfect" so the definition of perfect had her name.
Tell your sister that name necklaces are super-ghetto maybe she will reconsider.

I have a picture of myself on my desk that I look at every day.

I don't particularly like it. If they are wearing their own name, wouldn't that denote narcissism?

    • That's kind of what I think.

Why own jewelry, when you can invest in stock instead?
