Person on phone is having an affair with your lover. what do you do?

Let's say that you've been married for 5 years to the love of your life. One day, you're home alone while your sweetheart is out buying dinner. The phone rings, you pick it up, and you hear a voice you're unfamiliar with.

The caller says, " Hi. Is (Sweetheart) there? ". You answer back with a confused, " Who's this? " and the caller says, " My name is (so-and-so). I'm his/her girlfriend/boyfriend ". At that very moment you realize that your husband/wife is cheating on you. That very same moment, the frontdoor opens, and your husband/wife is entering the room with dinner.

What would you do in this situation?

I would confront my husband/wife and ask for the whole truth. 25

    I would drop the phone then take a running start a drop kick the bitch back through the front door with kung pow chicken flying all over the place.

    I would say "Hold on, here he is now with our tea, hey baby your girlfriend (whatever her name is) wants to chat with you" and pass the phone over! Listen in of course.

      I'd do just the same as phee ;o)
      I had an incident like this once but she didn't say she was my partner's girlfriend though I knew she did fancy him. He was upstairs and called down "who is it?" I recognised her voice and when I called it up to him, he shouted, "What does she want?" I can't remember why she called, but he shouted down "Tell her no."

      That day confirmed my trust in him.

    I would hand him the phone. My husband has lots of female friends. I don't know all of them.

          I dont think its "cynical" to be alarmed when a woman you have never met or heard of or whom your husband has never even brought up before, announces herself as your husbands girlfriend. If you take that nonchalantly, then thats just naive I'm sorry.

    I would calmly say, "sure hold please." Then walk up to him, smack dinner out of his hands, the break his face with the phone. And say, "Its for you."

    True, these two things are not the same. But as I percieve the situation through my eyes and my experiences, you see it through yours. And just because you think it's naive, does not make it true. I am sorry if your reality has not made it easy for you to understand. I'd be flattered if I thought you were concerned with my well being, but something tells me different.
