People who spit in public disgust me, is this normal?

It's gross, I mean if you need to do it cuz u have a cold or something then go to the bathroom, don't share your bloody germs!

I hate it too very gross and rude public habit many people have. If they have to spit for health reasons fine but at least spit where there aren't people right in front of you. Better yet carry a tissue with you and spit into that. Manners.

Just got back from a tour of Asia. It was revolting to see spitting etc. In the UK year ago it was banned as it was believed it spread TB. At one hotel we stayed a man spit into the umbrella stand amongst the umbrellas and we saw cooks doing it. Won't return to those countries!!!

I think its perfectly normal to get disgusted by seeing spit.

Even better is to not care about it and just go on your way. Don't let anything annoy you.

Need to be taught some manners. I sound like my mother but it's so true. Hold yourself with some poise and respect, spitting is foul.

I hate it too, especially teenagers who spit constantly while waiting for a bus or something, after they leave the place where they standed looks like they mastrubated all over it not just spited.

As for social acceptance I heard that spiting is acceptable in China as it is considered healthy.

NASTY! I hate it too. To me it kind of goes along with a guy scratching his junk in front of people. Rude.

I personally don't mind when people spit in public, but you feeling that way is perfectly normal. What I personally can't stand is when people spit a long string of spit, and then suck it back up before it hits the ground..ewww.

I am disgusted by this as well. Standards of etiquette are a means of showing general respect and good will. Spitting in public is like spitting on brotherhood.

YES!!!!!!! This pisses me off so much. Especially the guys who just jerk to the side and slag on the pavement and just continue on with the conversation they here having before they felt the need to spread there herpies juice everywhere. It totally ruins my whole day when I see that shit.

Actually spitting IS healthy. Swallowing snot and phlegm builds up bile and turns into cholesterol. Most people who die of heart attacks have a large amount of bile built up in their stomachs.
Spitting is gross on sidewalks, I try and spit only in gutters.

Spitting is notttt acceptable in asia in fact you can get a $5000 fine for spitting or littering. I know because i've been there many times - japan china korea. As for spitting in public i hate it when people do that. However lately my throat has been extra phlegmy so i cant help but spit but i make sure no one is around when i do it
