My best friend, who happens to be black, is getting married to his white girlfriend. Here's a guy who would give his shirt off his back to help someone. I have the honor of being best man. I'm hearing so many racist murmurs from his so called white friends that I'm really ready to kick some ass if I hear another one of these sick comments. The comments are coming from people who have known my friend for years. Belong to the same church. My friend and his future wife are two of most favorite people on the face of this earth, so I would never hurt them with what I have heard said about thier upcoming marriage. The amazing thing is that they share these sick comment with me because I'm white, so they think that I must feel the same way. When I tell them that I'm to be best man, so they can go fuck themselves (among other things), they pretty much run away from me as fast as they can. And you what? I think that there are black people who have a problem with this marriage too. In this day and age, is this all normal people? The church will be packed with well wishers on wedding day, I know that. My own parents will be there. I need to talk to my dad about all this, though. Before I hurt somebody.

    Well, yes this sucks, but bear in mind the real situation at hand. They say, we are the product of our environment. People are racist bcuz they have been taught to be that way. So realize this b4 you retaliate.

    Relax for now and deal with it after the wedding is over. Let the bride and groom enjoy their special day.

    I've warned both my daughters that interracial relationships are much more difficult that any others, because of pressure from the outside, usually by bigoted assholes. Every relationship is difficult enough as it is, but why make it more so? Of course, one doesn't necessarily choose who they fall in love with, but as they say, being forewarned is being forearmed.
