People place too much importance on what clothes you wear.

No matter what they say, people think a person with expensive clothes is a good person subconsciously. They also think a person with nasty, cheap clothes is a bad person subconsciously. I think that's really superficial and a sign of how brainwashed and godless we are in america.

Like all sweeping generalizations this isn't true.

Idk, because people with expensive clothes often get judged as being "vain" or "shallow", while people with cheaper clothes can just be seen as normal and down-to-earth.

    Depends on perspective.

I know for myself, I like to make an effort even without much money. I'm not wealthy and I don't wear expensive clothes, but I still like to look nice in any way I can. I do get a bit judge-y when I see someone making absolutely NO effort with their clothes whatsoever.

Sounds more like you're describing your own biases via this proclamation of generalities.
