Me and a friend of mine were presented with the slightly famous scenario- another person and an animal are in danger of death, which do you save?
Well, my friend (and many others) chose to save the animal, rendering me shocked. In my eyes that's equivalent of murder.
Don't get me wrong, I love animals. But to put another person's life above an animal is wrong. Think how much more complex, intelligent, concious we are.
It is for a reason that I am typing this message on the internet, that you are reading. We make jokes, laugh, use the toilet and have others who care about us.
And if you're one of the people who would save the animal, I say, instead of talking of playing with somebody else's life - how eager would you be to give up your OWN life for an animal?
Just my thoughts. Any reflections, points?

    It depends on the person. I would save a baby over a dog. I would save a dung beetle over a pedophile.

      Stupid. Being a pedophile doesn't make him a bad person.

      However, I agree. It depends on the person and probably on the animal too.

      Anyway, scenarios like this are just plain redundant and unrealistic.

          What does being sexually attracted have to do with intelligence?

          Also, you have to understand that there is a huge difference between being sexually attracted to children and abusing/raping children!

          It isn't a person's fault to be attracted to children and as long as they don't actually molest children, where is the problem?!

    And look what we O so smart humans have done to ourselves and our planet. I just watched a documentary discussing elephants and how they grieve death which leads one to believe they have self awareness. Now if I was to be put in that situation I would save the human. But I would have much distress over the loss of the animal. I feel like animals are a lot more intelligent then they are given credit for.

      I guess I should add that I would not save a scum humans life like the others have mentioned. Pedophile, Rapist someone like that is not worth saving.

    The humans I love are important to me. Innocent children are important to me. A member of ISIS or a serial killer is no more important than an ant to me.

    Humans ARE animals. We evolved the same way animals did. We just happened to become self aware and learn how to speak. I believe all life has intrinsic value. Yes, I would choose a human over a dog (unless it was an evil human), but because I am human and they are human, and we are naturally inclined to do so. But I still believe an animal's life is indeed important. We have responsibility to be the stewards of the earth. We should take care of all the life on it, not only humans.

    I would choose an animal over any kind of human whether it's a baby or not i don't care. well unless it comes to insects. then i would let both of them die. fuck insects and fuck kids.

    I'm going to save the helpless animal first. Sorry if that's not morally correct to the original poster. The human has more of a fighting chance to do something without aid anyways.

    I think its because we view animals as innocent creatures and we as humans see all the wrongs that we are doing to the earth and society. We are literally killing the earth while the animals are just living off of it naturally. We as humans are pretty evil (some of us) we ruined the natural law of adaption and evolution and have drifted away from any spiritual religion. etc etc.

    also because animals are small and remind us of babies. so like its in our nature to choose the little animal. Try a baby and a horse next time and see what happens.

      being a pedophile doesn't mean he is a bad person. mostly because it is the same thing as being a homosexual. they are bound to be attracted to children only. in fact, i believe they are a better person for not acting up on their urges that would lead them to molesting children. there are a lot more pedophiles than you think. you just hear of child molesters, now if you are talking about child molesters, i would agree.
