People burning themselves "for haiti" dream

Alright, a couple months ago, when news about Haiti first came, I dreamed that I was walking around in a large city, when I saw a very large crowd. I did not know what it was so I went over to go look, and what was brought to my eyes was a very horrible sight. On the asphalt was a huge, flattened lump of skin that was supposed to be human, and next him/her was a person that did not seem to have any facial features holding what i can only describe as a super heated spatula made of wire. As the lump of flesh was on the ground,the faceless man repetitively prodded the person with it's spatula. The "person" on the ground was an great torment, shouting in a anguished, terrified voice things like, "This is for Haiti!" or "God Have mercy on my soul!" over and over again. It also seemed that the person on the ground willingly did this, for reasons i did not know. I seemed like the only person in the crowd that was scared. Everyone just watched with dull, lifeless eyes. I was so scared that I had to run away from the sight. I woke very scared and i could not go back to sleep. Is this dream normal? and what do you think the interpretation is?
