i really enjoy watching people do the things they do, like for example, put their makeup on, a man shaving, a kid opening a candy, how they do certain things, how they shred cheese, from the most important to trivial thing.. i find people interesting that way and then find myself wanting to learn why they do the things they do... or just watch for hours without them thinking im being creepy, because if i let them know i want to observe then obviously their behaviors change... i am so intrigued.

    I agree, people are very interesting to observe. I have written many journal entries on human behavior in public places as well as dedicating a lot of my studies to the study of people and culture. I very much enjoy people watching and I don't think I am creepy about it at all.

      My Mom does it. She said that she and HER Mother liked going to malls and stuff and just watching the people.

      Of course then my Mom would talk shit about them ("That little girl is way too fat to be wearing that tiny little skirt") and that just made it funny.

    I don't think that's creepy, to me your behavior is somewhat beautiful. I can't explain it, but it's very interesting in itself.

      I agree. There's something really lovely about someone who finds beauty in other people and how they go about their daily lives. I love to people-watch too, and there's something about the unconscious grace with which people do the simplest things that is just fascinating.

    I've said it on IIN before but two of my favourite things are watching women put make-up on and watching cats just being themselves.

      i just couldn't do that my older step sister takes hours putting make-up on at-least 3 hours of doing it and then a hour or 2 to get out the door.

        Eeek! I'd hate it with anyone I'm related to. It's kind of a romantic thing with me. I just think all nice thoughts about them. And some bad thoughts too. :D

    I have never stopped to watch random people do things but i do watch my wife quite a lot and she gets creeped out by it.

      My husband does that to me too. I will be putting on makeup or cooking something and he will just sit there and stare at me. I hate it.

    Sure why not. Apparently I count with my fingers funny. It's been observed before. Not that I need my fingers to count but when I do, I guess the order I put them down in is odd. Pfff. That's my story.

        Well I said the way I put my fingers down is odd. I'm such a doofus. Its the way I put them up, starting from the fist position. Its normal to me!!! Thumb, pointer, middle, pinky then ring finger last. Crazy!!!

    You make it sound like humans are some sort of newly discovered species you've never came across before:P.

    I do actually get what you mean, though. People are very interesting. Very, very interesting indeed! Gawd, now I feel like I'm talking about another species. Mwaha! Um, yeah, anyway, I guess I could say that about most things. Stuff is just interesting. Animals in general are fascinating, and that includes humans, obviously.
