    It is the situation that dictates the action (or reaction) one takes, not one's choice or personal beliefs.
    A non-violent person should be able to seriously kick ass when they encounter a situation where they find what's going on more strongly unacceptable than their belief in non-violence.

      Yes, you have a point.
      ideologically I'd never hurt or kill someone. But I can still imagine some scenarios in which I'd be capable of doing so. It wouldn't make it right and I'd regret it forever, but I'm only human.
      That's actually why I didn't join the military. Not because I couldn't shoot someone who would kill me, but because I probably would.

    Well, I'm a pacifist, so I'd always go with peacefully. I don't know if it's the most effective way, but I'm pretty sure it's the right one.
