Overly liberal people piss me off?

I'm not asking if its normal, because I don't care what other peoples' standard of normal is. I'm asking if anyone else agrees with me about the fact that overly liberal people are annoying as fuck. I'm talking about people who refuse to eat meat because they believe its the worst crime since the haulocast to kill an animal for food, those people who believe if you give your child a smack when they're acting up then you're the devil, the kind of people who stand up for absolutely everything, including things as disgusting as adultry or drug abuse. Seriously people, come the fuck on. Drugs are bad, adultry tears homes apart, and yet I've seen more than a couple people on here defending shit like that saying everyone has the right to blah blah blah and its annoying the fuck out of me. I realise its the 21st century and everyone's pretty much obsessed with demonstrating how different the world is today compared to way back when but I think there were a lot of good things that came with being old fashioned. And no, I'm not an old fossil in my 60's, I'm a young adult who's getting increasingly pissed off with people using the phrases "freedom of speech" and "human rights" as an excuse to be a self righteous douchebag. I'm not closed minded or religious either, but jesus, what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong, but it seems like certain people (especially on this site) feel as if they need to defend shit that should not be defended. Am I alone?

I sometimes feel that freedom of speech is not freedom of speech at all. Political correctness plays a huge deal when giving your opinion. It's like you're forced to agree at something you don't initially agree with.

Hey, could you tell me whether you think I'm being incoherent in this post: http://isitnormal.com/story/is-it-normal-to-defend-non-constructive-criticism-186902/ please?

I don't think you know what a liberal is. Do you even understand any of the debates you claim to hate so much?

Do you know what a debate is?

    Why are you so angry?

You're aware you'll get abused and deleted, right?

I tried reasoning with this person once. What a waste of time.

Abuse? From this person. That tickles. Hahaha.

But yeah, I know my words are wasted here, but I have to try. I wouldn't be me if I didn't try.

  • As previously stated, vegetarianism doesn't necessarily imply liberalism, or vice versa. Though I recognize that a person may have the right to carry out an affair if they so choose, never once have I claimed that they should or that doing so was the ethical thing to do. By any chance, are you one of those people that judges entire groups of people by what they see on tumblr?

There is no moral value in adultery or in drugs but there is nothing wrong in advocating that the justice for those acts not be as swift, brutal and thoughtless as it used to be. Your wife cheated on you? Divorce her, don't beat her or beat the shit out of the dude. React like an adult, not like some "old fashioned" child.

This rant is very republican of you, ahaha.

Being a vegan/vegetarian doesn't make a person liberal. Nor does any of the other bullshit you threw into your argument. You're the type that uses freedom of speech but insults it. If you don't want your rights then keep your opinions to yourself, problem solved.

How does this make the OP republican? Also, how is the OP insulting freedom of speech?

Because they see the world in absolute black and white instead of varying shades of gray. Because they are all for Freedom of Speech except when others use it to voice their concerns or opposing views. They then call it whining.

I agree with some but not all of the OP because I am a middle of the road moderate. Extremist on either end accuse me of being their polar opposite. What is right and what is wrong is entirely dependent on time, place and circumstance.

How is he a republican if he is from the continent of Africa where the republican party doesn't even exist? I'm not even sure if he knows what a republican is. I don't agree with certain things he is against but, remember, a very large majority of people that live in Africa are very conservative.

I suppose it was assumed the OP was American. Usually people complaining about liberals are conservatives / republicans.

A world in pure black and white. Conservatives. Fuck em all. This isn't 1950 and your party drove usto the shit economic ssituation we are currently in by playing world police and getting into everyone's business but our own. If its one thing republicans and conservatives are good at, its sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. You have NO rightto tell me iif I can cheat on my wife or if I can grow my own damn food Lol. NONE.

I just don't like when people try to push their beliefs on me. I don't mind if someone else wants to be vegan. That's their choice but it pisses me off whenever they think everyone else must do it too, and if we don't, then that somehow makes us immoral.

You aren't alone, dude. It's not only on this site either, its all over the place. I am 30 years old, so i got another 30 years before I'm the old fart you mention too. I believe there are certain things worth standing up for that we didn't have in the old days but some of the stuff that people want to defend today, geeze. Its not so much the defending that pisses me off, but it seems like some of them want to force their way of living on everybody else and get so pissed if you don't agree with them. No, i do not want to go vegan. No, i do not want to be required to adopt a child that is "in need of a good home". And, no, i will not go out and protest something and not know wtf i am protesting!

    • I'm glad someone agrees with me! It seems like its the new in thing to be pro everything, nomatter how depraved or down right illogical it may actually seem. No, I don't want to accept muslims and welcome them into my community. Sorry, but I saw how they bombed the crap out of america and I would rather keep my distance. No, I don't want to stand up for woman's rights when they protest that they should have the right to abort their baby because they were too sleezy to keep their legs closed and I certainly don't want to start some sort of helpline for every whiney teenager who's getting cyber bullied. They could just log the fuck out of whatever site they're on but instead they commit suicide. Nice. I agree with you about the adoption thing, too. I want my own DNA in a child one day, or I don't want one at all. Why the fuck should I adopt some random kid? Did I birth the little bugger? Hell no! I don't want to adopt an african kid because I live in africa, and I get to see upclose exactly why the starving kids are starving. Because their idiot parents multiply like rabbits all the while knowing they cannot support themselves, let alone a child. Okay! Rant over! :P

I agree with all of that except abortions. I believe they should be legal, things happen. However, I do not like how some women use it as a form of birth control and get abortion after abortion. You would think you mess up once, you learn a lesson. Apparently not.

        • My views on abortion are, weird. I respect living creatures, in the sense that I will not senselessly kill living things. I believe certain animals are there to be farmed and eaten so that we may survive, and I believe that the death penalty is justice, if the punishment fits the crime, but abortion seems like a way of bitching out of responsibility. Granted, there are exceptions, like if carrying the pregnancy to term will endanger the mother's life, abortion is absolutely nessecary. If a woman was raped and the morning after pill fails, abortion should be allowed, but just because some highschool whore couldn't keep her legs shut or atleast use birth control, she gets to take a human life? I'm not some weirdo who believes birth control causes abortions because life begins when an egg is fertilised because that's bullshit, but I do believe once an egg implans and a blastocyte begins to grow, it becomes a life, and some slutty girl who doesn't feel like the responsibility of atleast carrying the pregnancy to term should not have the right to end that life. So its a 50 50 thing I guess, in some cases it should be legal, and it is legal here in south africa, if its done medically and properly.

You're entitled to your own opinion as to what is right or wrong, but so is everyone else.

"the kind of people who stand up for absolutely everything". These people have undeveloped identities, and they are easily insulted. Hopefully they will become more mature in this area by age 30.

I can totally relate to you there. But there's a difference between the State and the people. Like, lately I've been wondering if we should vote/protest/whatever for our own values or if we should be in favor of as much political freedom as possible. I'm leaning towards the latter, but believing there shouldn't be laws forbidding abortion or drugs doesn't mean that I, as a person, am willing to love irresponsible sluts and brainless junkies.

Please let it be normal. They're all such asshats... Hope they drown in kambucha... I don't like conservative people more though... They want to control everything in the horrible ways we already know too much about... Both of them want to censor you and suck... I find the liberals to be more annoying insulting hypocritical and ridiculous lemming types... whereas the conservatives are people I just strongly dislike... Who prefer mediocre antiquated stasis... They all suck to me.
