Oscar pistorius is guilty of manslaughter, he's not guilty of malice

oscar pistorius just left the courthouse this morning to be sentenced in a months time. The police were not helping him as people mob him. This man walks on prosthetic legs. The only reason everyone is so angry is because his girlfriend was beautiful. The out rage is based on shallow reasons. Leave the guy alone, and let him do his time in peace. I truly believe he made a BIG mistake, that's all. He's not guilty of malice aforethought. He's a flawed human being as we all are.

He's guilty and cold 11

That man is guilty of murder, it is blatantly obvious. You don't get up and see your girlfriend not in bed next to you, then hear someone in the toilet 'oh an intruder!' Let me shoot them.

    Stupid.
Anyway that fucking twat needs his dick cutting off, and sending down for life.

I hope we have all learned a valuable lesson though..

    Roses and red,
    Violets are glorious,
    Don't try to surprise,
    Oscar Pistorious.

A rich white guy gets away with cold blooded murder in South Africa? Say it isn't so. How could this happen?

I think he has mental problems but he still shot his girlfriend, I believe in a fit of hysterical rage. Being a cripple doesn't automatically make you a saint.

I don't think he has a mental problem.

Using the word "cripple" is rather harsh. I never said he was a saint. I said he wasn't gulity of malice aforethought. He may have shot her, but the judge and jury ruled it accidental. Therefore, it was an accident.

"...the judge and jury ruled it accidental. Therefore, it was an accident."

No the judge ruled that there was insufficient evidence to find him guilty of murder. That's different. We don't know if it was an accident or not, but there isn't sufficient evidence to disprove Oscar's claim.

Also, there is no jury in South African trials.

Basically, the whole thing seems bizarre. And the media circus surrounding the trial wasn't exactly considerate of either the accused or the family of the victim.

really no jury? So how does it work do judges call all the shots?

Pretty much. The judge can appoint assistants to help decide upon a verdict, but ultimately the power rests in the judge's hands.

Yeah, I think he's guilty of manslaughter, not murder. As in, he killed someone, but not because he had deliberate intent and planned to do so. I also think the media blows it way out of proportion because he's an Olympic athlete... If he was an average Joe, this would just be in the courts, not the news.
