Opinions on wal-mart

Do you think Walmart is good or bad?

They are the largest private employer in the World.but entry level employees are paid poorly.

There is huge opportunity for advancement but they are one of the most union hostile companies on earth, it's their way or no way at all.

It is an example of the American dream, showing how Sam Walton was able to build his business from nothing to the biggest company on earth during his life time but it commonly kills other small businesses just like the one he started with.

It has many good and bad traits, the ones above are just a few, what do you think?

As long as I get stuff at an affordable price, nothing else about it really matters to me.

90's walmart was oky, back when 2 important factors were true.

#1 the old man was still incharge and walmart sold american made first

#2 before the flood gates of cheap goods from china opened during the Clinton administration

You need to add, both as an option.

I think Wal Mart is great in that is brings goods and services to the people who often, otherwise, wouldn't be able to afford them.

I think it's good in that they often provide a steady flow of jobs to any given area.

I think it's bad that it encourages consumerism and is a major contributor to the exploitation of third world labor.

I think it's bad in that it often drives small businesses broke.

Then again, it's really hard to give a fuck about that sometimes when there's no way I'd be able to afford new shoes or a car battery without it.
