Ooops...that ain't food!!

The other day I was browsing at the $1 store and I saw these small plastc cups labeled "tarts". They smelled so good. I picked up a birthday cake one. Smelled just like it. Looked like candy. I bought it. I took a bite of it. Yeah-it was definitely not food. I googled "tarts" to try to find out what it was, turns out they are some kind of wax fragrance things. I feel duped. There was no indication that this thing was not edible. Everything pointed to it being food.

So what's your "ooops, that ain't food" story?

I once took a bite out of those fake decorative fruit things. I was fucking disappointed because it looked like a delicious peach.

Haha that happened to me too! I was visiting with an aunt I never met and ahe said to help myself to anything in the kitchen so later I went and looked to see what fruit she had in her fruit bowl on the kitchen island. I picked up the two bannans on top and I could tell they were real so I assumed the apples at the bottom were real too. I picked one up and was so hungry immidiatly tried to bite it but it was solid! Later I asked my aunt abput the fake fruit and she told me that she is allergic to apples but liked the way they looked as decoration, she put the bananas on top because she wanted them to be easy to get when she wanted a snack!

The only type of tarts I've heard of are the edible kind, kind of like little pies. Never heard of ones made out of wax before. My Aunt once ate little soaps because they were shaped like chocolate.

    • I used to eat those as a kid. I craved salt a lot. They look like tiny little Christmas presents!

We had a palmetto bug (like a huge cockroach) fly into a curry and I got it on my spoon and took a bite; now that ain't food unless you're locked in a South American prison!
