On the scale of evil, how does this rate?
Years ago, a group of my friends and I were together working on a late night project and one of us mentioned a fact that was similar to something that happened in the film Muriel's Wedding. At the same time, my gay friend and I said "Oh, just like in Muriel's Wedding!" I cannot recall what it was, but one of our male friends, a scrawny guy of Chinese descent, asked innocently "Who?" It took a fraction of a second for my friend and I to look at each other and reply, in what seemed to be rehearsed synch, "Muriel! A friend of ours", and start telling the plot of the movie as if all of it had happened to that person we supposedly knew.
We didn't stop at that. We said she would be coming to town by a certain date and that he would love her and certainly they would get along great, and in fact they were even each other's types.
That went on for months, while we kept him updated on Muriel's forthcoming trip from Australia. Our regular meetings were Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. A certain Wednesday, the film was on open TV. The following Thursday he did not show up. I wondered. Sunday, he did show, but only worked on the project and hardly spoke to anybody. We continued playing with the story, and he would sort of play along, but never too happy. I still think he wasn't quite sure of it (he smoked a lot of weed) or very hurt, now that I think of it. Why didn't he just say something to us, like "You fucking assholes!"? Anyway, that's not my main question.
I'm here, asking how you rate this on the evil scale. How bad do you think this really is or if you think this is just harmless fun?
| 10 - Pure evil. Pack your bags, you're going to hell. | 17 | |
| 7.5 - Evil. Regular evil. | 44 | |
| 5 - Neutral. It can go either way. | 32 | |
| 2.5 - Kind of funny. May sting a bit. | 46 | |
| 0 - Funny and harmless. Of no consequence but a few laughs. | 32 |
