Old people talent show...iin?

I went to this sort of older talent show. At the show, there were a bunch of 75-80 year olds doing different acts but then there was this one act, a 38 year old, a 40 year old and a 42 year old. They called themselves the "old people magicians"

As a 34 year old, I never considered myself an old person. So when I saw these young men calling themselves the "old people magicians", I got highly confused/offended. I am engaged, I didn't even start a family yet and no one has said I'm an old person so for these people who are under 50 to call themselves old is beyond me. Old people to me is 75+ like the other acts. Some kid next to me said it's shocking to see old people doing magic. WHAT..I don't get it.

They won and the person who spoke said, "as an old man at the age of 40 it's good to know i can still get involved with the community and live as though i still have my youth"

I literally walked out aggravated and thinking, if someone calls 40 old, what will they do for the next 40-60 years of their life? My great grandmother is 100 so if these people live to 100, that's another 60 years of life left. Old at 38+...crazy.

is it normal ? Is this old?
