Oddest dreams and nightmares

I have been having strange dreams for most of my life and will tell try and explain just one of many, would love to hear anyones views or suggestions of what this may mean..
i keep on dreaming about trying to hide a body of someone in various locations, old houses, woods etc, and constantly looking behind making sure no-one has seen me, i wake up convinced i killed somebody but fogotten about it for years and suddenly remembered and a fear sweeps over me...
10 years ago i jumped into a freezing cold canal after a 6 year old boy had fallen in, when i jumped in i entered an almost dream like state and remember very little about what happened except for pulling this lad out on the bank of the canal and some people shouting, i must add that i have no idea if the child died or not, i was only there passing by and just walked off afterwards and went back to my hotel, the next day i caught the train home.
This dream started after a few months after this incident, my wife says its something to do with me not knowing if the child lived or not and i should find out, but i think it may be down to jumping in freezing cold water
