Oddest combination of music you've boughten/ listened to consecutively

Sorry for the choices. It's just a general sense of clashing genres. Comment! :)

Kids songs followed by something by MGF (Machine Gun Fellatio...I mean, the band name says it all) with obscene lyrics.

My cousin turned the music on my phone on. I didn't realise it was on random play. It's all "watermelon...watermelon...I love, you love watermelon" then "Mama don't take your fuckface to town" and onto "I'm a motherfucker on a motorcycle" by the time I get it out of the her hands to turn it off.

    *cries*

yeah, I had Eric Church, followed by "Tyler, the creator" on my workout ipod.

One is a christian, solid country-rock and the other is an agry rap artist, talking about raping women in his basement. Works alright, I guess.

  • An old 60s band + music from a video game.

Totally unrelated and not polar opposites. Beat that, randomizers!

I had NIN followed by Debussy.

    But "boughten"?!

We both like Trip Hop too. We'd probably get along musically like some House on fire.

Ha! I could even cope if it was a handbag house on fire (not my favourite genre but there's something good in everything if you have the patience to look for it).

And yeah, we'd probably get along in general, not just musically. I don't seem to remember disagreeing with any of your answers here.

There's no such thing as "oddest combination of music" for me. I'm too diverse in the music that I listen to.

I didn't have a good answer yesterday but I do have a great answer from this morning alone.

First was The Monks (a band of American soldiers based in Germany in the sixties who were so Anglophilic they used to be named after a small British seaside town). Complete cult band for a lot of music-heads.

Second was Milla Jovovic (yes, the actress) singing a song in Ukrainian that I know so well I can sing along to it despite not really knowing what the words mean.

Then it was the beautifully surreal Half Man Half Biscuit (that non-English people just won't understand at all). From the album CSI:Ambleside, I listened to joyous numbers such as "Bad Losers On Yahoo! Chess", "Took Problem Chimp to Ideal Home Show", and the frankly wonderful "National Shite Day".

Then I listened to the acid dub / blunted beats / Hollywood cinematic "Trout" by Monk & Canatella.

Then Public Enemy's "Harder Thank You Think", then Beethoven's 3rd Symphony (The Eroica), and then a slowed-down jazz version of California Dreaming.

P.S. If anyone is ever interested in knowing what it feels like to be English and northern, look up the lyrics to National Shite Day. If the north ever splits from the south, then *that* is our new national anthem.

I can't remember if it was in a consecutive order per se, but I do recall at one point having songs by Ludovico Einauldi, Creature Feature and Ke$ha on my iPod at the same time. :S

I don't really care what genre I listen as long as I like it so you can find songs like "Your worries will be blown away GiMMExGiMME Yes! GiMMExGiMME Yes!"
to "I will rape you daughter on your grave!"

Ummm..... toughie. I don't know if I've bought any especially weird combinations today. Almost tempted to go to a music shop and buy something just to say I've got something weird now!

One of my Facebook friends listened to Darude, Daft Punk, Covenant and then Chopin/Debussy on her Spotify yesterday, if that counts.

I listened to Barbara StreisBUM [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdweuSGbj7w] and other variations of Willy Bum Bum, The Hollow (Constantly Consuming Mix) by A Perfect Circle, Broken by Seether and binged on Linkin Park yesterday.

I've listened to Taylor Swift and Rammstein consecutively before. I've got a "variety" playlist on spotify containing metal, pop, classical, country, rock, rap and music from game soundtracks (Morrowind and Halo).
