Obsessed with nirvana

Don't know why but ever since freshman year I've been obsessed with Nirvana. I have 4 of their CDs, downloaded all of their songs onto my itunes, have two of their shirts and I can play all their songs on guitar and sing them. I can also play the whole Nevermind album on bass too.

I also know the whole story of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain's biography. I read his Journals which I liked because it gave a lot of information but I also felt guilty because I felt it was an invasion of his privacy. His journals gave a lot of insight to his mindset and I share a lot of similar views with him.

Every girlfriend I've had has said that when they listen to Nirvana they think of me now. They picture me playing guitar and singing lol. I'm also a straight guy but I would go gay for Kurt Cobain ;)haha. (I'm not one of those people that think he's a god or anything. I mean he was very imperfect and I don't like that he commited suicide.)

I don't know why but I just think they're the perfect balance of everything. I've listened to so many different genres of music over the past 4 years and Nirvana has and always will be my favorite. I'm always in the mood for them. Somehow they changed my life in a way.

Is this normal or creepy?

    4 CDs? I have 7! and yeah same story with me only I'm a girl and I know what you mean about the journals, I'm wondering if it's normal that my one wish would to go back in time to when they first formed and become a groupie?

    Weirdly enough, I knew someone in high school who loved Nirvana. Wouldn't it be weird if you were the same person? O_o

      I actually do. It's probably their worst song. It's too repetetive and you can't really understand a word he's aying. Not to mention it's overplayed.

    I was the same way with Rush. So it's most likely normal, i'm not particularly sure though.

    I love nirvana, i'll admit alice in chains were alot better though.

      yea i actually think they were too creatively and technically. They also put a lot of emotion into their songs but to me Nirvana's just better. Alice in Chains can get too depressing sometimes. I like depressing music but pretty much all of their songs are depressing.

        A wise man once said to me..."most people think alice in chains was a sad or low down sound, i've realised it wasn't at all, it was sombre and full of hope"

        I find the end of those bands strange though, i always looked at cobain as selfish for what he did . And staley as tragic, just slowly letting himself rot away, not leaving the house or speaking to anyone. I remember being seven or eight and seeing the news of cobains death on the tv.
