Obsessed with my band

I play bass and sing for a goth/punk/rock band (called The Flitz) and ive become completely obsessed. I call anything not relavent to the band "prep" or "preppy" and get really pissed off at anyone mentioning other local bands even getin pissed with my band mates for not sharing my obsession, I've even sacked members for not showing the devoted love for The Flitz i seem to be unable to break. my last band broke up and i lost a lot of friends and girl friend through in-fighting is it un-healthy to focus so much on one thing or is this what we need to make it big (well biggish) some advice would be much apreceated.
peace, love and human sacrifice:

U can't force passion it's an internal thing.. People see bands as a social thing as well as a hobby, and not everyone want to make it big... U need to be open minded.. This could actually help u succeed .. A leader is one u want to follow and respect not to be forced to follow and respect. If u male them feel like stars they will share ur passion.
    Good luck.

Yes it is wrong to be so completely immersed in your band and so closed minded to other things. You don't have to be so closed minded (in order to be big) that you sack people for not sharing the same interests as you.

To be honest, I don't think that being closed minded will get you very far because you will need to learn how to co-operate with co-workers and fellow band mates to ensure success. If you can't co-operate, you'll be the one kicked OUT and left with efforts wasted. Companies don't like to hire arrogant and un-cooperative entertainers because they can always find someone else.

Will sacking others really make them more devoted to The Flitz? It's more like they'll dislike it or even hate it more.

P.S. If you make it big, don't do drugs. Just saying...because it seems like you're the type of person who would if someone provoked you to. Eheh...just looking out for a fellow human being! :)
