Obsessed with darkness in my room

I've always been annoyed at the fact that while I'm on the computer or playing games on my television, that light always bothered me.

Just recently, I started covering my windows up with dark sheets and table cloths laying 'round the house and I've pretty much blocked most sources of light.

My biggest problem now is that I'm wondering if what I did was the actually the right thing and started heavily doubting it.
I want to return back to just opening my windows and receiving light, but I always feel as though I'm going to change my mind and revert back to my previous habits.

Also, I'm not pale, white, emo, or suicidal.
Light always bothered me while I used the tv and computer; that's all.

    Sounds cosy.

Use a red lightbulb. That is what I do. It gives me light, but still creates the illusion of darkness since red light is so high on the electromagnetic spectrum.

  • I love candle light much better than light bulb light. Much more soothing and natural

I know what you mean, I enjoy dim lighting. I believe it's normal. I enjoy light and dimness. But if your eyes are uncomfortable with light, don't exceed what your eyes can handle.

I don't think it's good for your eyes to be staring at a screen for so long when the rest of the room is totally dark. But if that's how you like it, I don't think it's too abnormal.

Believe it or not, the whole darkness and a bright computer screen thing is not an issue. I went to an eye doctor recently and it had that on a little fact sheet about old wives' tales.
