Nye encounter

OK, My girlfriend and I were having SeX for our New Year's Eve celebration. We spent the entire night together, and spent most of the night "celebrating".

I thought we were alone, however, the next morning I walked by my daughter's room and overheard her telling her friend on the phone that after she came home early from a friend's party, she listened to us "celebrating".

Is it normal for teenagers to be so curious about sex that they listen to their parents doing it?

Listen? I think you mean heard. If your in the same house and your having loud sex then your going to be heard. Its nothing todo with being curious just keep the noise down. No one wants to hear there parents having sex.

Do NOT confront your daughter. That will be unbelievably embarrassing for her and the results of that confrontation could be very bad. Just be more careful in the future.

Yeah, my daughter is 16, and has shown a bit of her wild and "curious" side more and more in the recent months. Thanks for your input.

I'm glad you and your hubby got to "celebrate" the way you wanted.

Yes and no. Some teenagers are more "curious" than others. And it also depends on your daughters age as well. Me and y hubby "celebrated" as well, starting in 2010 into 2011 lol!! Awesome way to celebrate!! We also planned it in a way haha! My ultimate answer tho is yes. I dread when my kids hit those years and get curious and we have to be a lot more cautious. Good luck in future "celebrations"!

I listen to my dad and his girlfriend having sex - sometimes I masturbate wishing he was having sex wit me. You should let your daughter experience the real thing with you.

Of course it's normal for teenagers to be curious about sex. But for her to actually sit there and listen for an hour, is just a little out of the box, not by much, but still out there.

confront her, not in a hostile or negative way, just in a sort of "hey I overheard you talking about listning to me and my gf having sex, and was wondering..." that sort of thing. Mayb ask her why she did it, or if she has any questions or if she is practicing safe sex or something. If ur afraid of talking about sex with her because it will be "akward" don't be, no matter what the sex talk will always be akward.

@ Trismegistus. Obviously you overlooked my explaination that my daughter wasn't home when we began our "celebration". She came home during, and I didn't know it until I overheard her talking on the phone the next morning.

My daughter has become curious, adventureous, and really grown into a beautiful and sexy young woman. I am proud of her, and I will help her satisfy her curiosity however I can. I will begin by talking to her, and see where it goes from there.

From the posts I gather that this is normal...So, if she did masturbate while listening... at least that would be normal... LOL.

It is quite normal but now onward you and your hubby should be careful and not to be much louder. Children of this ages boys or girls keep trying to peeking parents when they are doing sex louder.

She probably masturbated too.Or she just laughed about it.Celebrating new years having sex while an ignorant teenager listens from the room next to mine.I'll add this one to my list of things to do before ding. She found herself listening and she is the one behaving unacceptably? Are you out of mind or what?I don't understand this world anymore.

No - she LISTENED. When she was talking to her friend on the phone, her actual words were, "I stood in the hall and listened for like an hour. They were doing it like a porno. It was like weird and exciting all at the same time. I wish I could do it like that."

I have my own thoughts and feelings about this, but I'm looking for input from others.

I also have a 15 yr old and 16 yr old sister and they confide in me quiet a bit. So at 16, a definite yes. At that age they are hitting their sexual curiosity stage. Unfortunately the younger generations are growing up a bit too fast! Although some are more mature than others. I wouldn't let it bother you, or concern you too much. Are you "single dad" with no mother in the picture? If so, it's going to be awkward but it's time to sit down and talk with her about some things. If she's being sexually active, then I would suggest birth control. Good luck with all future endeavors with your teenager! I'll be there soon! :)
