I have my own child but I honestly can not stand my Husband's little brother. He is 6 but he is a total jerk. He never gets punished for the things he does. He pretty much gets praised and he constantly steals my stuff and breaks it. I can honestly say I hate this little kid...

    Growing up as a Mexican, Myself, if my mom wasnt around me in public and If i went to destroy somebody elses stuff, id get whooped by the owner of that and THEN by my mom. Lets say i grew up Perfectly fine without feeling "aBuSEd" or something retarded like that. I grew up respecting other peoples property.

      If he were stealing and breaking my belongings, it would definitely still be my concern, regardless of whether or not the little shit lived with me.

        So don't go there, or don't allow your possessions to be accessed by him. You're not the child's parent, you can't do anything. If his parents are dumb enough to let him get away with it, that is, unfortunately, their choice.

        I have an objectionable child that is family. I don't hate her, but I find it trying to be around her. However, I have no input as to how her skank mother raises her. All I can do is be a positive influence. You could be that to your brother in law, if you chose to understand that you are an adult. From what you've said, that sounds like a tall order for you.
